Remarks

So being a private university, LPU is a quite good college in terms of quality of education. The infrastructure here is one of its kind, the campus is spread in 600 acres of land. The admission procedure is very easy, everything is online and the university's assistance is very helpful. From appearing for the entrance exam to counseling and uploading your documents, everything is done on their admission website. LPU also has different scholarship schemes under many domains be it sports, education, co-curricular, etc. I got a 40% fee waiver on program fees based on my 10th standard percentage. The international exposure, placement records, various cultural activities, the curriculum of the course were the aspects that got my attention. I also read some reviews of LPU on CollegeDuniya, and watched some videos to get more details about the university.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose the BTech CSE course because of my interest in technology as well as its career prospects. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:50. Teachers are great and they know what and how to teach. Ofcourse there are exceptions but most of them are quite good. A majority of the faculty hold Phd in their subjects and others are having Post-graduation. Coming to exams, the schedule here is very hectic, there are Midterms and End Terms in a semester, and they are of moderate level. One can easily pass and achieve great marks if one studies the topic atleast once. Apart from these exams, there are a total of 3 assignments in every subject, of which the best two are considered for final evaluation.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Almost all of the companies which come here for Placements also come here with internship opportunities for 3rd-year students. The highest stipend is Rs. 50,000 offered by Microsoft. Roles are QA testing, SDE interns to name a few. The process is almost the same as the full-time placements and companies offer 2 months and 6 months of internship opportunities to deserving students after selecting them.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are really good here, It can compete with the best colleges here. From the 5th semester onwards, students are enrolled in placement services here. They provide different pieces of training here as well like corporate etiquettes, soft skills, grooming classes, etc. to prepare students for the on-campus placements. There are many companies coming to the campus to recruit young minds from here. major names like Amazon, Adobe, Google, Linkedin, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, and Microsoft are also among the recruiters. Mass recruiters are TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, etc., which recruits a bulk of students every year. The highest package till now is 42LPA offered by Microsoft for the SDE role. The average package will be around 5-6 LPA. Almost all of the students get paced here other than the ones who opt for higher education. Recently there were 11 students selected in Amazon at a huge package of 30 LPA and 6 in PlaySimple games at 20 LPA. Even I am planning to sit in the placements as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

Okay, the fees are high but there are plenty of scholarships available on different grounds be it academics, sports, co-curricular, etc. And I think every year the fees increase by Rs. 10000 or so. Note that the scholarships are only for program fees and not for hostel fees. And it's completely your choice whether you want to choose the in-campus hostel or a PG outside the campus. We can also get student loans if someone needs that. There are also on-campus jobs for students to earn part-time. There is a huge UniMall inside the campus and also a student-run hotel Unihotel. You can also work in different labs, tuck shops, cafes, etc.

Campus Life

4

There is a huge annual cultural fest here named YouthVibe. It's a global fest with a foot count of more than 1 lakh. Many different cultural and tech fests are happening around the year. LPU has a very huge library comprising all the books and journals one can think of. The timings of library are quite flexible and student-friendly too. There are AC classrooms here with every class having a digital console for presentations and stuff. Every classroom is fitted with an announcement speaker as well. Sports infrastructure is the best in India. There is an Olympic-level swimming pool here. You name it LPU has it. There are many sports auditorium for different sports like badminton, tennis, basketball, shooting, etc. The fields here are quite astonishing as well. International exposure in sports is what makes it the best. Many students are playing national and international tournaments in our university. Clubs here are countless, everyday there is an event going on on the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
