Remarks

I liked the placement percentage of LPU and its amazing infrastructure. I didn't like the exam-taking process. We should be given more time to prepare for our ETE. But we got a notification just before a week in 1st semester. The admission process is easy. If your marks are lesser than 90% on boards then an entrance test is necessary which is LPU Nest. I prefer this college because it has good placement records and has a variety of courses. I searched about this college on YouTube and on Google and also my cousin studied at LPU.

Course Curriculum Overview

I like coding and I'm a fan of new technologies and it has good scope also. Faculty members are enough for the number of students at least in online mode. I don't have an idea about offline. Almost every faculty member has completed their Ph.D. and some are doing it from LPU itself. About the teaching method some faculty members are amazing on the other hand I didn't like the teaching skills of some members. We were informed 1 week before our ETE in 1st semester. We didn't get much time to prepare for End Terms. If you study well then it is not hard to pass the exam.

Internships Opportunities

I don't have much information about this because I'm in the 2nd semester and I didn't search about it much. But while searching for the college I came to know that companies provide internships to the students with stipends also.

Placement Experience

From the 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Infosys, TATA TISCO, Cognizant, Mahindra and Mahindra, The highest package was given by Microsoft to Tanya Arora of 42 Lakhs PA. I don't have much idea about the Average Package. The percentage is about 90%. I will go for on-campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is a little bit on the higher side and there is no provision of concession of fee in online classes we have to pay the same amount as Offline classes. The fee remains the same for all 8 semesters. LPU Nest is the name of the Scholarship Test. There are different criteria for Scholarships. I'm currently studying at LPU.

Campus Life

In LPU, many fests are conducted but in this Corona situation only online workshops and Instagram live sessions are going on. LPU has a very large library but in this COVID situation, it's not accessible so they have arranged an online library. There are soo many organizations in which you can take part and improve your skills.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
