Overall, this is a good college and offers various opportunities to its graduates.

Entrance Preview

No specific entrance exam is conducted admission is based on the percentage marks obtained in 12th Standard the college announces a cut-off list and students who have a higher percentage than the cut-off are admitted.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course is designed by Delhi University the main focus is on teaching commerce and its related subjects such as Accountancy, Business Law, Economics, etc.

Internships Opportunities

There was no college policy and/or requirement for the students to do internship during my under graduate days, and therefore, none of the students underwent internship in those years.

Placement Experience

There was no placement system followed in the college at the time of my graduation. However, the job opportunities were good and basically depends on the course undertaken by a student. A commerce graduate from the said college had a great opportunity, as the college is known for its commerce course.

College Events

The college has an annual fest, 'Srijanotsav', comprising of extra curricular activities, competitions, contests, performances, dance, music, drama, play and acting, and is great fun. Apart from that, the college participates in inter-college sports competitions, like cricket, soccer, hockey, basketball, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is extremely reasonable and nominal, as the same is decided by the Delhi University. The fees just needs to be paid once in a year only compared to other private colleges/ universities, the fees is less than 1/20th.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any scholarship and/or loan facility as the fees levied by the college/ Delhi University is so much SUBSIDISED, there is no need for a student go avail the scholarship/ loan.

Campus Life

The campus is huge and has separate sprawling grounds for different sports, like cricket, football, basketball court, badminton court and other sports/ games the college also participates in inter-college sports and debates events/ competitions.

Hostel Facilities

The college has no hostel however, there are plenty of paying guests accommodations around the college, which are safe and affordable some of them even offering all 3 meals to the paying guest at a very nominal charge the College has a canteen/ mess.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumini network is not very connected the alumni network is not aggressively promoted by the college and interaction between the seniors and the alumni is very limited.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted annually by the Delhi University since, its a three-year course, therefore, the exams were conducted only thrice during the whole course duration.

Faculty

The faculty for the course opted by me is good and dedicate time to each student and their teaching skills are amazing the college is known for commerce.

The faculty members are supportive, knowledeable. Teacher explain concepts clearly and encourage student to participate in discussion
I like friendly and comfortable campus environment. student from different background intreact with each other
The college provides a good acedemics foundation and opptunities for overall development. being Part of delhi university also give student exposure to different events

Dislikes

some classroom and campus facilitues need improvement
placement oppotunites can be improved, esecially for student looking for better corporate exposure.
the evening college schedule can something be inconveibient because many acitvity and oppotunities are generally more accessible during regular college hours

Life at South Campus

Likes

The crowd at venky is great, diverse crowd.
The campus is well maintained and is one of the bests at DU.
Opportunities provided to students are great

The attendance policy is a little strict for 1st and 2nd year

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.

Likes

College is improving day by day teaching faculty is also helpful it recently got A++ NAAC credition as well
Overall college is good if you have good peer group.
Near to north campus so doesn't really feel much of headache if you want to visit regularly.

Dislikes

Shadara is not a good place to spend your college life.
Evening college crowd has made the reputation of the college bad.
Near by area is not safe for Girls in late hours.

Placement Experience:

6th sem is the first time college placement are proceeded . Companies are not impressive and mostly are entry level jobs such as cold calling and such which they offer. Highest package was 4 lpa and avg was 2.5 only. Around 60 percent students gets placed.

Likes

The online learning platform is easy ans simple to use students can acces lecture and assigments and study materials anytime
Faculty mambers provide clear guidance through online sessions and study materials they are supportive
They procides recording that was very usefull when we will not attend the live class

Dislikes

Since the classes are in online and also there are some techical issues while taking classes that will interupt classes
placement support is limited in online classes so students need to search for internships and job oppertunities on their own
Its deffecult to connect student coordinators while we wnat exam timetable etc they are too slow

I choose BCOM because the want to take ACCA after BCOM it will helps to improve my career and give a better job and also BCOM is the basices of ACCA like law, financial managment, taxation etc .The curriculam provide strong fountation for students who wamts to pursue higher studies such as M.COM , MBA and professuonal couses. BCOM helps to understanding real world bussiness practices , accounting sytem etc . on;ine study material recordimg leture and assigments also make flexible for students to study their own pace. exams are usually conducted semister wise the difficulty level 0of exam are moderate if students were attend the class regulary and prepare well

Faculties are best. They teaches you and create never ending bond with you.
Infrastructure is good but the area is small , the greenery is amazing and flowers are sooo sweetest.

Dislikes

No hygiene in canteen. Avoid eating from canteen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant notably the focus on real world applications and Advanced Financial reporting. It prepared me well for professional life. Improvement is needed in digital tool exposure.

i dont like any thing in this college

there is a green gaurden in my colleges old campus
we have a big ground in our college which i like i can play football there
they make an football ground in old campus which is good

Dislikes

techers are not good in teacing they just want to let it go the classes
my college was too small and the classes are not properly furnished for my class size
there is no place for sit in the shade or to make our mind diverted or have fun and the canteen is worst of old campus

i am from commerce background i want to do eco honers but in 12th i dont have mathematics so i cant then i decideid for b. com honers but i aloted the b.com program which is my 3rd priority umm i leanrd new things in my ncc and with my friends there are very less college activities to i dont know how to make my college life good and make some experiences they can make us travel with them to the real buiseness or any factory or a relay paper work from any company i want to do a camp in jab which is good for my ncc life but it is during my exams thats why i cant did that camp yet

i liked their faculty member and staff , they are played with students and taught as a friend
i liked canteen service and their foods it is hygienic but canteen infrastructure is not good
i liked their ground its have bollyball court basketball court badminton court and cricket ground also and they provide gym in college

i didn't like their campus because its not too much big
and college provide which lift service is not working properly
their bathroom is not too good and not too much hygienic

i choose bcom hons and all teacher are provide their 100% on their courses but neet to improve in practical exam because some computer not working and teacher teach students in one computer but there is no difficult paper according to time some time it's lengthy.

SBSC - Insights and thoughtful

I applied for other colleges such as Banaras Hindu University and Jamia Millia Islamia but and got confirm the admission there but I choose this college over others because of course. No I didn't get rejection from any other college. The admission process is through commerce allocation system and eligibility is 12th Plus and exam expected are common University entrance test which is most favoured and given by the students and cut off for this course is around 730 out of 800 and my admission experience is fantastic where I am able to exploi different things in the college in terms of society and other activities too....Read More

My experience at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College so far !!

To get admission into any college of University of Delhi you need to appear in CUET ( Common University Entrance Exam ). Cutoffs vary from college to college depending on how many students apply for that college. I simply chose SBSC over other colleges i was eligible for because it was the best option i had and since i didn't want to go to a girls college so preferred SBSC over DRC and IP and also over ARSD, SGGSCC and all other colleges at this level. I also got admitted in christ Bangalore ( Central Campus ) and Narsee Monjee ( Mumbai Campus ).
