Lovely Professional University from a student's point of view

I had for various colleges across the country like KIIT, Symbiosis, NLUs, Amity etc. but couldn't attend due to various issues. My admission to LPU was based on the marks obtained in the 12th examination. I was granted with 30% scholarship. The admission process was complex but once it's done, you just need to be updated with the schedule provided to you. This would include a 3-day induction program. It starts with the introduction to the university by the seniors and ends on a tour provided by the Department of Student Welfare (DSW). You'll be given the first two days of your term to clear your issues regarding the working of the institution both on online and offline modes.

Faculty members in the School of Law are student supportive and mostly approachable at all times. But I have heard about issues from my friends in different departments regarding the faculty. Being particular about my department, most of our professors are PhD in Law with sufficient practical experience in the legal aspect. The teaching method used in the campus is mostly online and students receive the teaching material on the online portal provided by the university. Tests are held twice a term but class assignments continue throughout the term which finally adds up on the end term marks. Tests are not difficult at the initial stage but as you go higher, the standards rise, so you need to put in more effort to understand the concepts.

Internship opportunities provided were from various NGOs, Local governing and legal authorities but the students prefer to apply for internships by themselves, so did i. Once the Internship is over, the viva is taken regarding the projects of the internship and every student needs to maintain the details in a diary form with the dates and timings being mentioned accurately with the conduct and the diary will be submitted to the Head of the Department. Also, the university provides for the diary itself.

The placement record for the university is good. I have witnessed my seniors being placed in ITC, Amazon, Flipkart, Google. Speaking particularly about my department, students mostly opt for legal practice so the placement ratio is relatively low. I am also planning for the legal practice if possible and placement into legal firms is an option for me right now.

The original fee amount per semester for the course of B.A.LLB is 79,500 INR but some modifications can be done by the authorities on the basis of your eligibility for the scholarship. My fee per semester was reduced to 46,500 INR after the application of the scholarship I was eligible for. I have never applied for an on-campus job but they do give out announcements on a regular basis regarding the availability of jobs for students with a stipend.

Honestly, LPU conducts various cultural and educational fests throughout the year, the list goes on and on but the most important mega-event of the university is the Youth Vibe. I haven't participated in this fest. But I did take part in One India, One World which is one of the mega-events in LPU. Classrooms are not up to the mark but do have all the required amenities. Every department has its own library but there is a central library available from 9 AM to 12 AM every day. Libraries are equipped with computers and an internet connection is provided to all throughout the campus. LPU provides a huge list of sports and extracurricular activities. There are more than 128 student organizations working and regular events are organised.

Hostels are not up to the mark. The food quality is great at the initial stage but as time passes it degrades. For hostel facilities, you can either book hostel accommodation at the time of admissions or you can drop a request on the online portal. After my first year in the hostel, I had to move out to a PG at the law gate. Law gate is an area just beside the campus which consists of PGs but it needs proper information to be submitted to the university regarding your stay outside the campus.
