Reality of Galgotias University

I applied for UPES since I live in Himachal so, but their fee was too high and expensive so I drop the idea moreover placements are not as good as Galgotias, I took admission by going to the college based on my 12th board exams and there was a small interview of 10 minutes taken by the first year dean, then I got selected and received a mail from the admission cell. The minimum criteria are that one must not be greater than 20 years of age and should secure at least 50% marks in boards in PCM. I received the offer letter via mail within 1 week and after 1 month my induction started.

I chose Electrical Engineering as I have a major interest in wires and circuits, moreover, I wish to crack GATE also. EE is not an amazon certified or NBA accredited course here, faculties are ok but not very knowledgeable, we study from our own like NEPTEL, Youtube and other online courses platforms, CS department has the best faculty in the college, my favourite sir is Mr Lokesh Varshney sir he teaches us basic electronics. Exams are tough are but they provide us question banks earlier only and questions from there only the exam paper is made so one just needs to solve the question banks and he can pass the exams with good marks, 5 internal assessments, 3 class test of 30 marks each and 1 final exam of 100 marks is taken every semester along with projects and ppts presentations.

Placements are good, the college will give you many opportunities and will make every efforts to make you placed as I have seen, big MNCs come like Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Vodafone, TATA and many more but these are the major ones, the highest package was around 29 LPA offered from Amazon and this year around 85% students were placed from on campus placements, the average salary was less that was 3LPA, my dream is to crack GATE in my 4th year itself and to get placed in any PSU.

The fee is average like in other colleges also, that is 1,59,000 including library and lab fee charges, they provide UP scholarship to students who are from UP only and they have a tie up with many financial institutions who provide easy loans with very little paperwork with low interests also so, education loan is not a big deal in galgotias, besides that they provide merit cum scholarships to existing students studying here based on their performance.

Annual fests are held not annually but once in every 3 years this is the truth of galgotias, the library is neither small nor very big it is average, no AC and wifi have been given to the library, books and journals are plenty with the latest edition, classrooms are fully ac packed with wifi and working projectors, lights are good and table and chairs are comfortable and it is like a 5 star hotel feeling. Sports auditions and trials are an everyday routine here and nukkad natak are held anytime giving a social message to the students of the college. There are many societies like Gaming, photography, motorsports, technical, innovation, entrepreneurship, dance, singing and many more but the active ones are these.
