Prashant Singh's Review On Maharaja Agrasen Institute Of Technology - [MAIT], New Delhi

Well, when is comes to engineering there is always a tough competition in India so its always difficult to crack the top nut, but I have always wanted to stay in Delhi for my graduation which helped me narrow up my options, knowing I cannot make it to IIT Delhi, and won't get my preferred branch in DTU and NSIT I turned my eyes towards one of the hubs for engineering universities - GGSIPU, and it has only few top colleges which are really actully making something good out of time , IPU exam was a charm for me and i scored a pretty good rank but the main campus had limited options and did not offer mechenical engineering therefore i went for the second best college in IPU which is MAIT, considering its competative environment and experienced faculty and great exposure in MAE as it has one of the top techenical student sociey called Jatayu which works in Automobile manufacturing giving students a chance to shine ( now when i look back it turned out to be a pretty good option.

Course curriculum - B. tech all around India is pretty standard, the difference comes when we talk about how well the college implements it, taking into account the no. of labs, frequency of classes, how much is the course application based, in all those aspects the college proves to be decent. Though it can be made better by regular participation of students supported by the college to try out new things rather than just sticking To the syllabus. And allowing students to have an overall experience of learning by doing a bit of cultural activities which has a really good scope and not forcing them to become bookwormsAcademics- one of the things the college has always supported on every student is academics, everyone will get the desired help required.faculties- although there is an experienced faculty, but with age people become less active and that does affect some of the teachers as the classes sometimes become dull, again this is not a trend just some of them, overall the ranking faculty wise of all the departments is as follows according to me-1- computer science 2-Mechenical3-Information technology 4-EEE5-ECE

All the students have to find their own internships, no internships are provided by the college. I did my internship in DRDO and college had no part to play in that. The teachers, although can guide you somewhat for the same.

the students become eligible from the 7th semester , the highest package is given by ion trading of 12 lakh CTC , given to 7 students. Probably not so great, life is easy for CSE and IT branches, but not so much for others.Plus the college gets very few companies with are a handsome package, most of the students are employed by the mass recruiters. And also mot everyone is going to get placed.

Although the fees is not too high considering its a private college, but yes money is relative.The college gives you a free laptop to everyone who scored a 95% and above in board exams and on 50% discount to students with % between 90-95% if a student wins money in any competition an equal amount is given by the college to appreciate the student by the college as well.But other than these the college is a bit strict about the payment of fees and fees deadlines.now the placement senario on campus is satasfactory , a dedicated hardworking student from CSE , IT and ECE branch can crack a good placement but its not the same for MAE and EEE where not every one can get their hands on a placement offer so choose your wisely.

Now this is the most interesting part, the college campus is really good providing a place for students to freely walk around and 5 canteens and 3 photocopy shops, most of the classes are now equipped with AC and there is a huge indoor badminton court, football ground, basketball court and Amphy theatre, The college library is a 4 floor building with all good books available and the college auditorium adds shine to the college with its 650+ capacity.The college gibes a good arena for students to socialise and know each other. There is a hostel inside the campus but only for Boys. As I was really active in the clubs and cultural societies of the college, so I know its probably one of the best colleges to explore your talent, the Theare society Aayaam is famous throughout the Delhi university theatre circuit and film the dance society is amazing, all the technical societies of the college are doing great too with Jatayu wining the game with its international participation and dedication.
