Remarks

The Institute is given the status of Institute of National Importance. It maintains a Good placement record. The Institute is blessed with very scenic and modern infrastructure. Very close to nature. All amenities are present inside the institute. Many places in himachal for excursion with friends.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is common that is followed by almost all NITs accross the country. Academics could have been better as very few professors are good. Very few professors motivate you to think out of the box.

Internships Opportunities

Yes I did my summer internship ate the end of third year with an American MNCs. I had it through a contact of my father. Most students also search for contacts with friends and families. Some companies like L&T visit the campus and also give Pappa. Teachers also help in securing internships in IITs and NITs.

Placement Experience

Placements are great for computer science which achives almost 100 percent with few people with multiple offers. ECE also comes close. People in core branches also do have companies visiting the campus but they are not in very high number. Many people go for Comp exams such as CAT, GATE, GRE

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee was very less at the time I graduated. It cost me 3.9 lakhs in total included tution, amazing hostels and average food. Campus placements are good but only for CSE, ECE. Mech and EEE are average. Hardly few companies come for Civil and Chemical. Scholarships are present but they are generally for people with reservation or low income families

Campus Life

Campus Life is amazing. Great scenic views and some amazing places to plan your trip with friends. There are many number of clubs e.g photography, sports, PR, Dance, Drama, Music etc. All the sports facilities are available in the campus including Lawn tennis, Badminton, Football etc. Hostels are one of the best in the country with high speed wifi. Cultural fest Hill Fair and technical fest Nimbus conducted every year. In short Campus Life is top notch.

Admission

The admission process is solely based upon the percentile you score being calculated on top of your JEE mains score and percentage you scored in your 12th standard. You will apply for branches as per your interest and then will be allocated one based on your score.

Likes

Infrastructure and quality of education and supportive professor for building our success career
Very supportive atmosphere for growth in any engineer branch
Very good approach towards creativity innovations and practical projects

Dislikes

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

Likes

HODs of the college are good and well experienced as they are retired or done there masters from government colleges
Principle is also highly educated and good human being

Dislikes

They take lot of fees and not provide quality education
The infrastructure is bad and poor , no mentainance at all
Charge unnecessary fee , no computer lab , poor library, poor labs no equipment

They just teaches you to complete the syllabus only There are 1,2 term exams (MST) in a semester Honestly they repeats the PYQ but they fail all the students except few who gave answers in class and are their favourite

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

Placement Experience:

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

The college campus is a pretty nice place to explore and it's beauty will make sure to bring you close to nature
Noone can get bored by the interesting assignments you get during your course

Dislikes

Many of the infrastructure and basic requirements are lacking
There can be more educational tours for students
More attention needs to be paid towards the career guidance

Everyone know that agriculture is of great importance and it's worth is increasing on a daily basis and opting for this course helps to learn various scientific methods to allow in the improvement of the traditional farming methods. With the help of agriculture extension.. these technologies are provided and being taught to different farmers and stakeholders. This course also allows us to get the practical knowledge by different field works.

i like availability of nice infrastructure amid the beautiful valley of shimla and also practical knowledge as heavy flow of patients is there.
a lot of patients are there thats why easy for students to access things
faculty is also nice they are doctors so learning from their experience come in handy

Dislikes

cafeteria needs to improve as there is no availability of variety in food
some people tend to take upper hands because of authority
due to large batch size some students tend to be hidden among masses

course curriculum is relevant and necessary. sometimes the professors who are basically doctors and not teachers tend to burden some students with lack of understanding and teaching which is difficult but is manageable

I loved the beautiful view out here the different varieties of flowers, Greenery , this university also held many kinds of club like socal club, eco friendly club and many more
I like that this university always take care about nature beauty they grow many trees for oxygen
They also serve society provide basic needs to poor people also running a club for poor people donate them food, shelter and clothes

Dislikes

I don't like the faculty of this university like they never co-operate with childrens they come and complete their duties and go
They only take care about there repo they don't care about students here half of the boys drink alcohol they just ignore them and move to next
Teacher have no sense of talking with students they behave like trash I'm very disappointed with this university at first they show their image like a clear paper but after entering there i came to know the real image of this university

Course curriculum is zero they never show any kind of efforts in teaching our exams were going on and one subject teacher just send notes and said Learn it and write exams like she never attended class not even one class business studies teacher just come teach give homework and go and next day come and ask questions if students don't know answer just say them to get out from the class is this the way to talk with students they are not their servents never ask if they have any kind of doubts and maths teacher just write question and their solution and read that solution students come here to learn something but they behave like trash

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation.
