Remarks
I choose this college because the Safety and Fire Engineering offered by it was quite unique. And this course is not taught in many college in India and also that it provides quite good placement including companies like GAIL, ONGC, IOCL, RIL, TATA Group, BPCL.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is quite unique and rare taught in other part of country and it's the 2nd Government University which teaches this course. It offers quite good placement in Industries like GAIL, ONGC, NRL, BPCL, OIL, RIL, TATA groups and so on. The faculty is also quite experienced and kost of them are PHD Scholars from eminenet IIT and some of them also has Industrial Experience which makes them way better than any other Institutions.
Internships Opportunities
The colleges get Internship offers from many organizations such as RIL, SOTY who give some stipend to students. There also Internship opportunities without Stipends such as in GAIL, BPCL, ONGC, IOCL. I got the internship opportunity in GAIL and Tata Steel where I didn't get any stipend but got to learn alot.
Placement Experience
The placement offers are very high in our colleges. The students from IT CS ECE get offers from eminenet organizations such as Amazon, TCS, WIPRO, Infosys, CISCO. Where Safety and Fire Engineering Students gets offers from eminent PSUs in the country with highest pacalge being 22 lpa from GAIL. CISCO also offers salary between 13-15 lpa. The students of other branches also get offers from L&T, Godrej, Tata Power, IOAGL,etc. Overall if your backs are cleared and have decent gpa of 8+ then u will be leaving college with a job of not less than 3.5lpa, which is the lowest package offered.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The Fees structure is quite good. The feese is very less compared to other institutions. 3.5 lakh for the whole course. Also the alumini association provides scholarship to the needy and the topper of each semester gets a scholarship of 10000.
Campus Life
The life at campus is very exciting. You may will get all the amenities of daily life at the campus itself. And college is located quite near to city and with the biggest Mall in City just 6 Km from campus. In free time u can visit Beaches or go for trekking in nearby mountains or experience the beauty of Kerala. The Seniors are quite helpful and interacting with them is very exciting. My experience at campus was very Amazing. Kochi also has a Wonderla Amusement Park. so the campus doesn't lack entertainment.
Admission
It takes Computer Based Entrance Exam known as CAT. The syllabus and pattern for entrance test is exactly similar to other engineering entrance exams. I prepared for the exam as usual like preparation for JEE. No seperate preparation was required for it.
