Sarita Bhandari
Reviewed on Jun 5, 2021(Enrolled 2017)

Remarks

Sarita, student of B.A. LLB 8 (semester), Shoolini University, Solan (HP). The criteria for the admission was first I had to give SU Clat (that was the test which I gave before the admission), the minimum marks that is required is 45% in 12th board and mine was around 80% and there was no such age limit. After the form filling process, I had my induction in which we get to learn about the college and its process and had counseling also which was quite effective for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The reason behind choosing this course seriously is that because I wanted to give some competitive exams(UPSC) and judiciary exams and choosing this course will prepare me for that and it will be very helpful for me in the future. Here in Shoolini faculty members are very good, they are very helpful and understanding. And their teaching method is also on point. They are well versed with the subject and they have full knowledge about the subject. We have mid-term and final term examinations. It is not that easy to pass an exam we have to study a lot for that.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I have done my internship in the court as I'm a law student. The internship was very helpful for me as I have learned many things about the court, there I have learned how to deal with the client, how to write an application, how to make a plaint, diary making and etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement in Shoolini university is very well more than 100 companies visited for on-campus recruitment and 2000+ students got placed. The highest package is recorded at INR 15 LPA and the average package is recorded at INR 6 LPA. My plans after getting a degree are to work with some good legal firm or to give a UPSC exam and try for civil service or give a judiciary exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure here in Shoolini is fine only and if there is any issue or problem with the students who can't afford to pay the fees then scholarships and some quotas are also available for the students. Here in Shoolini university we have 1) sibling scholarship, 2) single parent (mother) child, 3) merit scholarship for all the undergraduate students based on their 12th board marks. 4) BPL scholarship, and many more.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is awesome here in Shoolini university. In Shoolini university we have fest which is known as Moksh which is of three days and it is organised in the month of March or April and there are many cultural programs like Saksham, inter-department competition and many more . Books are easily available in the library which is open 24/7 hours, and every type and kind of books, journals, digests, the newspaper is available. We have good sports facilities, we have a basketball court, yuvraj stadium where we play cricket and soccer, badminton court, we have a gym and etc. We have many sports competitions on the campus and the students also inter-college competition. Here in Shoolini we have many clubs and groups like Music Club: Raagrang, Theatre Club: Dramebaaz, Entrepreneurship Club: Samarthya, Painting Club: Satrangi Strokes, Photography Club: Shutterbug, Dance Club:Saksham, Adventure Club: Hiking and Trekking Club, Cooking Club: Baawle Bawarchi.

Hostel Facilities

4

Shoolini university hostel's rooms are very good, spacious, and very neat and clean. We have laundry facilities, room cleaning facility etc. We get good meals and even the quality of the food is also good. The registration process of the hostel is quite the same as the admission registration and it is very affordable also.

Interview Experience

4.5

As such there was no such interview before taking admission to a university but yes there was one test that had a similar pattern like the Clat exam which included questions from (G.K, English, history, political science, maths ).

Placement Experience:

The placements are not that good as of now because it is still a new NLU. But after 3-5 year's this thing would also improve as more and more companies would come to the University for placement. My plan after the degree is to join a law firm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is essential to guide teachers in what to teach, how much depth of knowledge is needed for that grade, and a timeline to follow so the year will be completed.Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself.i wouldn't eliminate content without background we cannot form good, rational and educated conclusion

Placement Experience:

The placements are not very lucrative only tier 3 law firms offer placements at HPNLU, companies such as SVS attorneys, optimus legal , SNG & partners , SNS legal , Mandala Law offices etc. No. of placements offered was around 10 in 2023. The highest package offered was INR 18LPA by Singh and Associates. The percentage of students getting placed every year by the univerity is very minimal ; 15% and average placement is offered t 5-8 LPA, But most students get placed by companies out of the campus and in their personal capacity. Out of campus placement is pretty high around; 55%.I plan to prepare and appear for judiciary examinations. I also would prefer working in corporate and law firms. As I explore further the path may begin to clear up more.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in the final year. Big companies like Godrej, Tata etc come to the campus for placements, usually around March. Packages can go up to 15 lakh or even 20 lakh rupees depending on the firm and the individual. The placement is really good. There is 100% placement for courses like Biotech and MBA. No placement has occurred yet for Law because no badge has graduated as of now. My plans after graduating are to get a lawyer's job at a big corporate firm in the UK.
