Remarks

I had applied for BVP Pune but was unable to bag the branch I wished for so I applied for LPU . The admission criteria was not very strict, anyone can apply but the scholarship you scire depended on the LPUNEST score of applied early or 12th board / JEE Mains score. During conduction days, the speeches given by the chancellor were really good , the guards and teachers of the university took all of us to a tour around the university and also explained all the details like the academic system , sports system and the overall infrastructure of the university in a very easy way . So overall it was a good experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course about computer science because I had a good interest in programming languages and web development field . The faculty-student ratio is some 1:70 , which is better as compared to some other colleges with a ratio of 120-130 students in a class . Most of the faculty were good in teaching and had an avid knowledge of their subjects , and also were good in expressing their knowledge about the subject and clearing doubts . There is a pretty different system of exams here . The unit tests consist of a solid 25 percent , consisting of 3-4 tests in whole semester for a subject . The Mid term exams hold 20% , 5% marks are for attendance and 50% for end term . There are about one or two unit tests before mid terms and the rest follow . Best of 3 unit test marks are considered out of 4 tests , which consists of 25% . The exams are pretty easy , Unit tests are a little difficult , mid terms are mcqs and end term consisted of both mcqs and theory questions .

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are a lot of companies offering internships in the university, in every field of computer science , even offering good amount of money ,but currently, I don't have good knowledge as I have not applied for any internship.

Placement Experience

4

To be honest, I don't know about the placement process as I have not registered/applied for one yet, but regarding the companies, they are in plenty. A lot of companies, startups, and mass recruiters come to Lpu for the students. The highest package scored was of a girl named Tanya Arora, who was placed in Microsoft at a package of 42Lpa, and the average package is between 4 - 5 Lpa(which differs from company to company). After my degree, I am aiming for getting a good job in an MNC.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had scored a 30 percent scholarship based on LPUNEST Exam. The tuition fees which would've cost me 2 lakhs for a year, cost 140k, having a 30 percent reduction in tuition fees for each semester. There are a wide variety of hostels available, ranging from 20k a year to 100k a year, and you've more extra things you can enroll for like a particular sport, gym facility, etc. for a very fair price. There are also many options for financial assistance in case you have a single parent, or an army person, a government employee, and others. A lot of companies come to Lpu for placements. Currently, I have not enrolled for any job/internship so I do not have a good idea about campus jobs, but I can guarantee that there is no shortage of companies searching for interns and job applicants.

Campus Life

4

There were many fests held in Lpu before the pandemic, including every type of fests like tech fests, book fairs, and many more. LPU has a really vast library where you will get every type of book including literature, physics, electronics, and many more, also including books having details of even very small topics. There are well-ventilated AC classrooms and labs. LPU gives a lot of attention to sports and extracurricular activities and you can often see lots of students involved in clubs, sports, gyms, etc. Just like the books in the library, there are a lot of types of clubs for acting, anchoring, hacking, programming, and many more.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The facilities in the room depending on the type of hostel you have. I had chosen a simple 4-bed room and it had a normal automatic room cooler , water cooler on the floor for everyone with 24 hrs supply, and hygenic bathroom and toilet. The food in the mess is cheap and pretty good. There were different types of meals and breakfasts every day, but I had left a mess after some time because of time flexibility issues. The hostels are pricy, but it's pretty okay considering the proximity to your learning school. The registration process is very very simple, but there is a rush because everyone is keen on choosing 4 seater hostels as they're quite good taking into consideration the price and the facilities.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
