Remarks

I opted for a management quota in this College and the fee was pretty high for us compared to other college's management quota fee. We had special self-development classes for 2 weeks followed by a bridge course for another month in online mode. The classes were good.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course which u chose was Be. Ece and the reason for choosing this course were because of the placement percentage and a little bit of safety factor for a biology student in an engineering college. There were enough faculties to teach each subject, they were master's degrees and Ph.D. holders and the method of teaching is good. It's not something unique, but it's good. I am from a CBSE background and the exams were very easy for me, and I could easily grasp the knowledge from the teachers. The exams were not that tough and the college has a question bank for every subject On their college website and the questions asked in the exams were directly from the question bank.

Placement Experience

4

Placements in SRM Valliammai Engineering College are good. Companies like Accenture, CTS, Cognizant, etc, etc Will arrive for placement. I'm in the first year so I don't know much about the placement procedure and other stuff, but as per my knowledge, there are better placements with a maximum annual income of 12 L / annum is achieved.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee for counseling students was very low compared to the students from the management quota, there was a huge difference. We were asked to pay an extra amount for the sake of improved and enhanced classes after paying the whole year fee. But it was only the management students who paid the fee and not the others, but still, we were in the same class with the other students and we are learning the same as the other students. The college also provides a scholarship scheme for girls.

Campus Life

4.5

The main advantage of joining this college is its campus. A huge campus for all the SRM students and proper facilities like drinking water were installed at proper places. The SRM central library gives you access to 20000+ books and the Valliammai library gives you access to an Ebook website. Classrooms are non AC but are well maintained and cleaned every day. The college offers sports but only some. No OD's will be given to any students. There will be cultural events held within the campus and prices and certificates will be provided for the deserving ones.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The TRS Hostel blocks for SRM Valliammai Engineering College lies at the back of the campus, The rooms are not good, one can stay in a group of 2 or 3 and accordingly the room size and the number of cots varies. The cupboards and damaged, the walls are dirty. The food they provide in the hostels was pretty decent. You will be provided unlimited food (not specialties) in the hostel mess and different varieties of foods are served every day. One can apply for hostel facilities directly at the reception or through the online website of the college. The hostel is affordable and you will be asked to provide an extra fee in case if you need an attached bathroom ( TRS A block comes with an attached bathroom, TRS B block comes with a common bathroom). Overall the hostel Facility Is decent.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
