Remarks

College is a decent one with average package. All my experience is 4-5 years old. Check the current batch size and placement package vs fees ratio.

Entrance Preview

SNAP is the entrance exam required for admission to any Symbiosis university affiliated colleges. I scored 91.66 in 2009 which was a decent/good score. I applied for multiple colleges of Symbiosis. Didnot get call from SCMHRD, SIIB. Got in to SCIT and SIOM, selected SCIT.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum is vast. It is mostly divided into two parts: Management and IT.You get mix of both. Management subjects are common to all students. In IT there are 4 streams to select from: General, Systems, Security, Network. Accordingly you have the electives. General mostly covers management subjects. So for guys not interested in IT stuff can select general. I did the same.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is for 3 months, as with most of the colleges. Internship is little difficult to find at the campus, considering the batch size. I was lucky to get one. Mostly 60% find it on campus and rest arrange it on their own. The internship stipend isn't great, around 10k or so. college focuses more on final placements.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements was decent when I graduated. All of my batchmates got placed with average salary of 6 lacs per annum. There were companies from IT services, products, consulting, auditing, Big 4, etc.

College Events

4

Period of 2 years if full of events: college has annual event, CSR wing is very active, then there is one drama community Eklavya which has won multiple awards at national level. The campus is shared between SCIT and SCMHRD so there events gets doubled. Plus the sports events. You don't get time for all of that, but there are loads of them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was affordable. 6 lacs for 2 years which is very average for any business school. SCIT gives your Symbiosis brand name. Fees include the tuition fees plus hostel plus food plus books plus a suit.

Fees and Financial Aid

No idea. I was not provided with any scholarship. Loans you can take on your own. With Symbiosis college I guess any bank should offer educational loan. There isn't any provision at the college.

Campus Life

4

As described earlier, campus life is happening here. 2 colleges on the same campus: so there is always a kind of rivalry which makes the events more entertaining. Drama community Eklavya which has won multiple awards at national level. The campus is shared between SCIT and SCMHRD so there events gets doubled. Plus the sports events. You don't get time for all of that, but there are loads of them.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel was excellent: room shared between 3, attached bath. Maid available. Internet access.Food was also good: 3 meals a day. Enough choices.

Alumni/Alumna

College some years conducts Alumni meet at Bangalore, but not much people turn up. Other than that, no interaction. Just I keep in touch with few friends.

Exam Structure

At times it would become hectic. The pattern is: Every subject has got 100 marks which gets divided like this: 4 internal exams: 15 marks each. It could be presentations, projects, class tests, quizzes, assignments, etc.1 semester exam: 40 marks.Every sub

Faculty

3

Inhouse faculty isn't great. But I guess that is the case with most of the colleges. SCIT has some good visiting faculties. Inhouse SAP ERP faculty is good and has travelled a lot across the world. He gives good case studies.

Placement Experience:

The placements depend upon which Specialization you're in. If you're a marketing student there will be lots of good companies coming in for placements followed by finance and then HR. You become eligible for placement from 3rd semester. Companies such as Deloitte, PWC, TCS, HCL, etc. visit the campus for placements and offer a good amount of Packages.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.
