Entrance Preview

I gave AIEEE in 2006 and i scored 31k AIEEE rank . I opted this college as it is better than any other PTU college in Punjab and I wanted to stay only in Punjab.

Internships Opportunities

No there is not internship provided by the college . Students have to hunt for the internship by themselves.

Placement Experience

4.5

In 2010 there was 100% placement. Everyone in my batch was placed in the decent companies . There were companies like TCS, Accenture , Avaya , IBM which recruited students from my campus. The best part is that only students of GNDU are allowed to sit for the placements.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being the Government organisation the fees is not too much. They offer free education to the meritorious students. You end up paying 2.5 lac for 4 years B tech course which is quite low as compared to 5 - 6 lacks in the private college . Also the hostel facility is not at all expensive. It is as low as 2000 Rs per month including the food and the electricity bill .

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel food is good and is reasonable . It is based on the per diet plan and the cost is around 14 rupees per diet .Being the Government organisation the fees is not too much. They offer free education to the meritorious students . You end up paying 2.5 lac for 4 years B tech course which is quite low as compared to 5 - 6 lacks in the private college .

Exam Structure

Exams are pretty transparent . Everyone gets a chance to view the answer sheets. The passing marks are 24 out of 60 and also for the practicals they have 16 out of 40 . There is nothing much to worry about the passing marks .

Admission

The Admission is through the counselling process of CET and there is a reservation of 15% through AIEEE. So if your rank is good enough then you can get the seat based on your AIEEE Rank .You need to be good in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics in order to get a seat in the college . Getting into the college is the only difficult thing .

Faculty

3

The faculty for Electronics Department is not that good. There are only a few permanent teachers and they also being the Government Employees don't pay much attention to lectures . The HOD also is a chilled out person who hardly pays attention to studies and the lectures in the college , You have study on your own the Engineering stream which is no different from any other college .

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
