Remarks

I applied for LPU because of the culture and diversity it has and mainly the placements and teaching part is epic. Can't compare with IIT or NIT but better than many other colleges. I have written the LPUNEST and based on my intermediate % and LPUNEST marks I got a scholarship of 40,000 per semester as the original fee per semester is between 80000 and 90000. I think when on my first day they gave us a book that helped and helped in keeping track of the induction process and all other tasks till attending the classroom. We should attend the verification process in the basement of the 29th or 30th block and they will take some pics and provide an ID card that is valid for your year of joining to the end of your program and can be used at the entry gates of the library, hostel, auditorium, mainly university.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took B.Tech in computer science (Hons). I want to excel myself and I am interested in coding and learning new technologies like data science which is a specialization in this course. Faculty is good and have good experience and students should also try to study from internet other than what is taught in classes. For every semester we will have a mid-exam in between, an end exam at last and we have 3 or 4 assignments or CA which are considered as a part of final marks. Even the students should have 75% attendance if not they will get detained and should study that whole sem again. So, better to keep attendance above 75% and you will also get marks based on attendance for every subject.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Many companies will come by the end of the 6th semester and they pay a minimum of 15k per month as a stipend for internship. It's very good in terms of placements for cse. The highest package at my time was 22 LPA and placed in Microsoft.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are pretty awesome for cse and I don't have much idea about other courses. If studied and well and maintained good CGPA a person from cse will get placed easily. So, make sure study well and mainly 95% of students will get placed who opted for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Your fees will be the same as what is discussed with you first. Only hostel fees may change. I wrote LPUNEST and based on my intermediate marks I got a reduction in my fees. My fees are not that high but one of my friends who got 98% in intermediate has no tuition fee but he has to pay the hostel and mess fee.

Campus Life

3.5

We used to have many fests and many good renowned celebrities used to visit our university. Even once PM Narendra Modi Ji also visited on the occasion of NEC. It's pretty good. Library timings will be 7 am to 10 pm. You have to return books within 7 days to 14 days based on your stream.

Hostel Facilities

4

The rooms used to be very good. Much spacious and the hostels will be of 10 floors and will have 4 elevators and we have WH. Smith for food and groceries and a canteen and an atm in the basement and are open 24/7.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
