NSUT, B.Tech, Mechanical Engineering

Reviewed on Jul 12, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

I had applied for NSUT MAIN CAMpus for mechanical engineering. The admission process was completed through JAC Delhi counseling and it was convenient though The seat acceptance fee was quite high. Placements are excellent for tech and nontech but core branches of placements are a little bit less convincing.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty members are good but not great ones. Although some faculties have field experiences. they are well-qualified faculties but some faculties are lazy in teaching. I hope they will improve their teaching skills in the future.

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 190000 per year

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internships in core branches are not very well known in NSUT . Core branches students approach themselves for their internships .from 3rd sem. Students are eligible for an internship of core is 85 and tech is 100%. The highest stipend paid is 20000 .top recruiters are Google , amazon, ola schlumberger etc.

Placement Experience

The placements are excellent . There is no one in this who could deny the fact that NSUT has a high number of students get placed well. The placement cell of NSUT IS very active and work very hard to place their students in well established companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee str. Of b tech programme is as follow. 1st year 190000 2nd year 209000 3rd year 219000 4th year229000 There are many scholorship available for maritorious students and needy students . Scholarships also available for sc,st,and obc students.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at campus is excellent . The wifi speed of college is auspiciously high.campus has such a huge library so that it contains more tha 2 lakhs books.annual fest of NSUT is moksha which is conducted between may an july. There are many sports events occur time to time in NSUT.there are also many groups and societies working in the campus.

My experience studying at NSIT

Likes

Placement was among the best and most the top companies visited
Infrastructure was appreciable with no major shortage of laboratories
Senior-Junior interaction compensated the average faculty

Dislikes

Outdated curriculum negatively impacted the conceptual clarity
Too difficult to secure good grades due to strict marking
Mediocre support provided to student led initiative

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was evidently outdated and irrelevant to modern engineering challenges and could have severely disadvantaged students' learning outcomes. Although, interaction with seniors compensated this.

How Good B.Tech. from JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA is?

Likes

Here in Jamia the faculty is very experienced in their fields , they make you feel Engineering and not to just read books. there teaching methods are amog the top in the nation
the curriculum not just focus on your engineering but also focuses on your personality development.
the infrastructure itself gives you the feel of oldness and the reputation of the college.

Dislikes

one bad thing is its less availability of Hostel rooms .
there is a very strict rule of 75% attendance .

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

The Dream College Life

Likes

The campus is completely different from the whole city, it is more cleaner and is quiet peaceful with various different beautiful views at different points and is not too big so could easily walk through the campus.
Has really great architecture of the buildings and is surrounded by really intelligent people including some over the top profs and some really great minds from the country.
The night life is completely different and is one of the best part of staying in campus.

Dislikes

some of the hostels are quiet old and need renovation.

Placement Experience:

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.

NSUT- A rollercoaster but definitely must have experience.

The main reason for joining this college was proximity from my home. Another option was DTU but it had a 2 hour journey from my home whearas NSUT had 1 hour journey. Both colleges are almost same and placements are also almost same. If someone is choosing between these colleges then distance should be a major factor. If someone is from outside Delhi then for coding culture you should join NSUT while for fun and fests, you should join DTU....Read More

NSUT insiders

1. I applied to only 2 colleges DTU and NSUT. But I didn't choose dtu because of traveling issues, as it was 2 hours away from my house and nsut was just 15 mins away. 2. I didn't get a rejection from other colleges, but I myself choose not to there, as NSUT is a reputed college and government college for btech. It is one of the top college in delhi. 3. The admission process is through JAC delhi counseling in which NSUT DTU IGDTUW comes, and you can select your preference and you will be given tbe course with the college according to your rank scored in JEE MAINS....Read More
