Remarks
IIMU has immense academic reputation among the new IIMs and is also known in the entrepreneurial space. With a decent batch size and class profile, the location as well as new campus was favourable for me. I prioritised Academics, Exchange opportunities and Location over other factors.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course because it is a General Management course and you can learn about all the subjects and later decide, as per your interest, which electives you want to choose. Also, it gives you time to get settled and understand your likings without rushing into things.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, I have opted for an internship as it is a compulsory academic requirement for getting the relevant credits in next term. The placement committee takes care of getting all the students placed and negotiating with the recruiters.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are getting better with each passing batch. The placement reports and details can be seen on the website iimu.ac.in and compared with other institutions of similar stature (if required).
Fee Structure And Facilities
The cost of the course is around a total of INR 18 Lakhs. Being an IIM, many banks have ties and they provide loans at affordable and considerable conditions. Apart from that, there are scholarships and financial assistance for reserved category students.
Campus Life
Due to the pandemic, I was among the students who did not get to visit the campus even once. So, I cannot comment on the life at campus. But, we have 30+ SCOs (student run campus organisations) in the college and you can be part of the one you like after passing the thorough selection criteria.
Hostel Facilities
I have not yet visited the hostel, hence I cannot comment on the hostel or the facilities. From the website, it can be checked that the cost of hostel accommodation is average and does not cut through your pocket.
