Entrance Preview
I took UPES's own management entrance test "UPES-MET". They dont disclose the scores, only the results. I qualified the written test and then was called for GD/PI which was held in New Delhi. I chose MBA in Business Analytics, after thorough research.
Internships Opportunities
Yes they do provide internship. It may be paid or may not be paid. It generally depends upon companies as well as candidate. The stipend can range from 5K - 50K per month. Internships are generally for 2 months. Companies like Nestle, Tech Mahindra, Tatatele Services, DGH, Bharti Retail, HPCL, MIC, Titan, IMRB etc are a few to name.
Placement Experience
For the students who are well read and done their internships intensively, ample opportunities are available. 100+ companies visited during the time I was placed, which offered mean salary of 5.5 - 6 Lakhs per annum. The highest salary was paid by HPCL. Infosys 7.2, Wipro 6.5, Nestle 10, Relaince 7.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is very feasible. I will cost you around 12+ Lakhs if you are staying in hostel or outside, for MBA for a period of two years. It is better to stay in hostel, although it is far away from the city, but if you are planning to stay outside the hostel, daily commute can be an issue.
Fees and Financial Aid
The University provide a scholarship of 20% to the topper of all the MBA domains. If the batch size is over 50, another scholarship of 10% is given to second topper. Apart from that if you have a domicile of Uttrakhand, you are liable for a fee waiver of 25% automatically.
Exam Structure
There are two exams with in a semester. One is mid semester exam and other is end semester. Mid semester accounts for 20% of over all score and end semester accounts for 50%. You need to have at least 75% class attendance to attend the end semester exam else you wont be allowed. This one serious rule and cant be played around. I have even seen toppers getting debarred even due to some unseen circumstances.
Admission
I had subscribed to their news letter a year ago, so I got the notifications easily on the mail. It s the easiest way I think, rather than going to the website and checking again and again. I filled up the form online and made the payment online too. Administration was helpful during the process. They have a toll free number for admissions itself. After this I appeared for their entrance test and cleared it.
Faculty
Every faculty who taught me over the period of two years was a PhD. They have immense knowledge base. But then teaching is an art. Majority of the faculty members are well experienced and their delivery capability is awesome. Barring one or two people, who also were not short on knowledge but imparting it, you can expect very good faculty members.
