Remarks

I applied in GGSIPU and also in JAC counselling, I was allotted a seat in JAC counselling, then I withdrew from the counselling of GGSIPU, as my first preference was college and not the course offered. I availed of OBC quota and the required documents were the OBC certificate issued by the Delhi Government, and attached with that was the NON CREAMY LAYER Certificate issued in the same year as enrollment year in the university. The candidate should have scored more than 60 % aggregate marks in class 12th CBSE Board Exams, and also should have appeared in JEE MAIN. The admission process was quite easy and one needs to fill the application form with the required details with some application fee which is around Rs 1500, then enrol for the JAC counselling, then the choice filling dates will be given and the preferred college with the preferred courses needs to filled by the candidate in their preferred order. Then seats will be allotted on the scheduled day to the candidates according to their ranks.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

DTU's Mechanical is considered good and my course is almost 70% similar to that of Mechanical, so I selected this course over others. The faculty to student ratio is good and our Vice Chancellor is trying hard to improve it further. Almost all Faculties are Phd or undergoing Phd. The teaching method is old school which needs to be improved as it hasn't changed much in last 10 to 15 years. The frequency of exam is normal like any other Government college, the difficulty of the exams is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internships are offerd in 2nd and 3rd years in the vacations, and a good stipend is given. Many students get stipend of 20k to 30k per month. Various companies like Microsoft, Google, etc gives internships to students of 2nd and 3rd year. Also some students are able to get internships from the government agencies like DRDO, ISRO, BARC etc.

Placement Experience

5

7th semester onwards the company starts coming and students starts getting placed. Few of the Companies visited are GOOGLE, AMAZON, MICROSOFT, FLIPKART, ZOMATO, PAYTM etc. Placement statistics are comparable to old IITs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike can be considered a major problem, as in my first year the fees was 1.9 lakhs and in my 2nd year its 2.06 lakhs and is going to increase further in coming years. There are many types of scholarships being offered by the private organisations and also by Delhi Government in which any student can enroll.

Campus Life

5

DTU conducts some of the largest and most famous fests which are among the best in the country. No problem of books in library, infact the library is very good. No problem of sports equipments and amenities in classrooms. There are many clubs related to different branches and anyone can also create their own club. There's a football ground, a cricket ground, a tennis court, a basketball court, volleyball courd, indoor badminton court, kabbaddi court, Gym and there's no problem of sports equipment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
