Remarks

Previously had applied for IP counseling but withdrew as my mind was set on studying physics. Later enrolled in B.Sc Physics Hons. at a DU college. Filled JAC Delhi only after the spot round as chances of getting in were low and surprisingly I was admitted.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As mentioned, I am a Physics enthusiast and this was the perfect course for me. Faculty up until now has been really great, although there is some bad reputation of our department regarding this matter. The whole faculty is well qualified mostly Phds and their teaching methods are really great except for a few professors. Evaluation has been split into an innovative project and many small exams instead of the older 2 exam system which has its pros and cons but overall it is a change for the good.

Internships Opportunities

3

I am yet to reach the stage to be able to bag internships so can't comment much. I know that internships are harder to get for our Dept. but off-campus there are a lot of opportunities. The DTU tag has great value and will help you out. Intern companies include Samsung, Microsoft, Google, and other really big companies.

Placement Experience

5

Internships begin during our third year and placements from the 4th year beginning. The opportunities are awesome. 45 offers till now for the EP dept. in this placement season, the highest is 19 LPA. Amazon, Uber, Morgan Stanely, Microsoft are some big names that visit and many more. Approx. 50% from EP dept. go for placements as most are higher study focused. I too plan on continuing my studies further, but that's up to personal preferences.

Fees and Financial Aid

Considering how the situation is forcing study from home, the fees are really high. Don't understand the need to take several charges irrelevant to online studies. The fees are on the higher side considering it is a govt. college and the payment methods are inconvenient for the average middle-class family. Scholarships do exist but most are based on category. As I said for your average middle-class general student getting a scholarship is a nearly impossible task.

Campus Life

5

Again, being online only, my batch has missed out on all the fests and campus life. But if in the future the campus opens up, it is gonna be a blast. It's a really beautiful campus. The fests are the biggest in all of north India. The library is very functional and can provide almost any book related to the curriculum or otherwise. Can't comment on the classrooms. Sports and other activities are restricted due to the pandemic so can't comment but the societies are great and provide great experience and exposure. UASDTU, TDR, IGTS are some examples of great societies. Our EP dept. also has an official society named DEPTH so do check it out.

Placement Experience:

For placement, I would say it is average in terms of top-tier colleges. Average placement is 6 LPA; the highest last year was 29 LPA in BTech AI/ML. Placement is offered in the 4th year of the courses, and there are on-campus placements available, but under significant criteria based on the recruiting company like cgpa should be more then 7.5 no active backlog and all so these are the cretiera that a company demands and depands of dfiffrent companies i dont have any subsqueent infomation regaridng the name of companies visited and no of offer made but i have the information regarding thear placement percenateg it was aroung 82 percent last year my plans are to prepare for govt exam and get in there after getting degree

Course curriculum was evidently outdated and irrelevant to modern engineering challenges and could have severely disadvantaged students' learning outcomes. Although, interaction with seniors compensated this.

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.

I don't know much about placement because I don't want to sit in the placement drive of my college. Like I told earlier also that I have interest in electronics, so I want to do something in that field. If I want then I will give GATE exam after 4 years of my college so that I can get a chance to do MTECH in vlsi.
