Entrance Preview

AIEEE,IIT JEE, Karnataka-CET, Marks Scored in Karnataka-CET-1020/1200. This college had good ranking in Karnataka's top college ranking & also had seats in the stream which I wanted to pursue.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum was good and according to standards. Course covered all the subjects and topics which are required to get all the technical knowledge and face the world outside engineering. We also didn't face any major problems for placements also in college as we had learnt many things in college itself.

Internships Opportunities

No, our college didn't provide any internship. We found internship opportunities ourselves and sometimes we didn't get any stipend. But we got our internship certificates but it didn't help much in our placements.

Placement Experience

2

Placements were not so good at out time. IT industry was struck with recession at that time itself so we didn't get many companies at that time. Many of our friends had to look outside i.e. for Off-Campus opportunities for placements. But maximum of our friends got jobs in these opportunities.

College Events

3

We used to have cultural fest every year. In that fest we had all the competitions from sports to cultural, all events. And prizes were also there for the winners. Fest organising committee used to form for organising everything from tents to calling judges. This committee consisted of all the students and 1-2 lecturers. There wasn't any criteria for being in the committee.

Fee Structure And Facilities

College Fee was less for the students who had come from CET and around Rs 27k as Course Fees. But for the students who had come directly from AIEEE exams had higher fees. Students from CET had to give Rs 1-1.25 Lakhs per year whereas non-CET students had to give Rs 2-2.25 Lakhs a year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college didn't provide any scholarship/loan facilities at our time. I didn't hear anyone from our college getting/availing any such facility.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was good. Rather I would say our hostel life was good. We used to enjoy a lot there. Talking about gender ratio, Male students were around 51% and female students were about 49%. Ratio was good. Students of different states used to study there. North Indians learnt Kannada Language there and South Indians learnt Hindi.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network was not so good. We didn't receive any such help from Alumni. But we got good help from our seniors with respect to study material, regarding college etc.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was also good. We had our internals every month or in every one and half months. So we had 3 internals in every semester and marks of these internals used to help us to get good percentage in out final semester exams. College used to consider best of any two internal marks for all the subjects, so students used to get one more opportunity to increase their average in 3rd internals.

Admission

I entered in this college through Karnataka - CET. After getting good marks in CET, I gave the name of this college as one of my option with E&C as my desired stream. So after attending CET counselling, I received the seat in this college ad I was happy to receive it as this college is in good locality and was in the middle of the city.

Faculty

4

Our faculty was also good. They were much qualified and very helpful too. They helped us in our experiments in labs and also helped in us in our last year projects. They all were either masters or had done Phd in their respective stream and thus, had very good knowledge of the subjects they taught.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

From 6th semester we will become eligible for campus placements. Very few companies will visit for chemical engineering those are aslo not core. Highest package offered for a chemical engineering is 600000 I guess this aslo a long back. But dont take a hope on placements here in chemical weapons. Do mainly focus on Gate exam. Get good score go for mtech or apply for good core jobs for interview.
