Remarks

This program conducts a qualifier exam[They provide the content of 4 weeks for exam], anyone can give this exam those who cleared 12 or equivalent in 2019 or earlier [should have maths and English also]. I gave an application fee of 3,000, And then I gave this exam and scored good marks also. The passing criteria are given below: Category minimum score require GENERAL - 40% ST/SC/PWD(40% disability) - 30% OBC-NCL/EWS - 35% I scored 74%, So I took the admission on the behalf of eligibility. And then they provided me an admission letter also within 15 days.

Course Curriculum Overview

The Course Curriculum is very flexible in this program. The course is divided into terms wisely. The professor taught very well and structured manner apart from this the extra activities and practice assignments also get done by mentors. 3 quizzes and one end-term exam are held in a term and we have to choose the center to give the exam of all quizzes. We can score well only we have to do practice assignments and take lectures timely.

Class Size: 7000Course Fees: INR 80000 per year

Internships Opportunities

This program has a placement and internship cell alone. There are lots of companies provide internship opportunity to of student who is currently doing diploma courses. The paid and unpaid internships provide by placements and internships cell.

4.5

This is a new program so students are progressing towards final year now So I hope it'll be providing good placement also. There are too many Students pursuing internships also. Now I am doing a foundation course so now I can't do it but my senior student told me.

girls to boys ratio is 1:1 is we consider all three branches with some courses with more male while other having for female.more or less the ratio is near 1:1
the most important thing for you is there is close to zero discrimination for you , whether you want to join any club or perform anything you are equivalent to students with others bachelor degree
octagon and library are the two things which are good as library is considered the biggest library among all nit's while octagon having 800 computers for students.NSO ground is also well maintained with the beautiful mig fighter jet to take cool phot

Dislikes

for first years hostel are well maintained if compared with others but don't expect much from hostel atlast this is a government college.in first year 3 to 4 person sharing room are there which was build to carry 2 person.
Quant and entrepreneur thing is not there as you might expect by seeing the nirf 9 ranking but it is not zero .they are growing clubs like profNITT and Sigma are young and they could do better
curfew timing for girls are 9 or 9:30 pm i guess be it any year. for boys ,only freshers have curfew with timing 9:30 pm.other than that any student can't step outside the college after 10 pm without the sign out form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as maths is the mother of all science and quite related to other fields so it opens a lot of door for me like mba ,mtech ,phd or any other things. this course is specifically designed for becoming teachers so keep that in mind before taking this course as they are not flexible in changing curriculum or adding something for the sake of students as of now. also you will be having more working days compared to other courses with 80 percent mandatory attendance.after first sem you will get 1 week holiday and after 2nd sem you will get 50.days holiday and after first year you can expect 20 days holiday for winters and 50 days holiday for summers. you will get a lot of time to study for exams. before ct 1 you can expect 2 months and then atleast a month for ct 2 and endsems. cons are that you don't have the right to choose minor or electives like btech students.you have to compulsory study all three science .i.e. maths , physics, chemistry.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

I didn't apply to any other colleges because I didn't find any better college which would give me such flexibility in terms of fee and course pace. I didn't applied so I didn't get rejected from anywhere. To get admission in my current college , I had to qualify a qualifier (entrance for this degree) exam which made me eligible for this exam. Only 12th class certificate was required which obviously I have with more than 60 % in maths. Cuttoffs are very easy to obtain. The cuttoff is according to category, for my catogery which is obc I had to obtain at least 40% marks but I get 82% marks and hence passed the qualifier and got the admission letter. Overall the admisssion process and experience was descent....Read More
