Remarks

I applied for many colleges like Thapar University, Lovely Profesional University, SRM University. Out of all, I found Lovely Profesional University (LPU) the most convenient and affordable. The admission to the university is purely based on the university's exam, that is LPUNEST. You get a scholarship based on this exam. Also, there are other scholarships based on 12th marks, Sports, NCC, etc. The minimum mark to get admission is 120. No age requirement. Just give the exam clear it and your admission is done.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Computer Science and Engineering because I was interested in them. This course has wide income opportunities. In this university, there are around 3000 staff members including teachers and around 20000 students from various states and countries. Every teacher is highly qualified very kind. The university has a platform where classes are conducted. Therewith the help of PowerPoint presentations, various PDFs and YouTube videos they teach. Our session started on 2 Sep. Midterm exams are one and a half months after the commencement. of classes. It's not that difficult to pass but yeah one needs to study very well.

Internships Opportunities

There are many internship opportunities. Google, Amazon, TCS, etc others offer internships. Paid and free internships both. You get certificates which will help you with the CV. Within the university, many projects are being held by various student organisations like one of the organisations is TodaysProgrammersTommorowsEngineers (TpTe). They'll teach you about coding with a week then later an exam will be held so you'll get your certificates. Out of state internships. Recently AMUL INDIA offered a paid internship for the students.

Placement Experience

Well well well. About placements, don't worry. As long as you work hard you'll get placed. About 87% of students get placed. Students are eligible for placements from the 6th semester. Companies start visiting the campus. Many companies visit like TCS, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Bosch, MRI, TATA, etc etc. The highest package offered is 49LPA and the lowest is 4 LPA Just work hard. The teachers prepare you for the interviews the companies are going to hold. They make you confident.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for B.Tech CSE is Rs 1,20,000 per semester without any scholarship. The hostel fee is Rs 90,000 including laundry, mess and AC. Various scholarships are provided by the University based on the score of the LPUNEST, 12th marks, sports criteria, NCC or any topper of the board exam. You can get Rs 36,000 scholarship per semester. So you have to pay Rs 84,000 per semester. As long you work hard your chance of getting placed in a good company is high. You get job opportunities on campus also. There are internships too.

Campus Life

College life is awesome. Many fests are conducted in the month of May, June, July. The biggest fest is the worldFEST. The university has a very big stadium where 50,000 students can fit. They have many libraries. The main is the central library. It's huge. By saying huge I mean it's very huge. Unlimited books on every subject are there. The university provides you with an e-library too. You can access the whole Library online. The university is famous for sports. Recently 8 students won medals from Tokyo Olympics. Many sports are even conducted. There are huge playing grounds. Not only you can outside games, but you can also play indoor games too. They have a huge indoor stadium.

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Dislikes

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
