Remarks

My KCET ranking was within 3500. So i had variety of colleges and courses to apply for for my graduation. But i felt BMSCE is more better because of its educational cadre, interms of placements, culture in each and every aspect. I took up the course BE in Biotechnology. And i joined the college under OBC, SNP quote as my family income was comparatively low. The admission was quite simple where the documents were thoroughly verified and fees was paid at the office.

Course Curriculum Overview

As i was interested in pharmaceautical researches i took up biotechnology. Faculty at BMSCE are highly knowledged and as kind, but are quite strict as well. Faculty are PhD holders and some are master degree holders. They teach really well and are very open to doubt clarification. Three Internals are conducted in total during a particular semester with a gap of 1 month each, best 2 are considered. One can pass the exam if one is attentive in class and refer the study material provided

Internships Opportunities

As i am in 5th semester i have only done some couses licensed from college under coursera platform. Offline interships are yet to be done. I have also done seminar on courses that i have completed. Projects are yet to be done.

Placement Experience

By the end of the 6th semester or beginning of 7 th semester, the company's approach for placements with good salary packages. Companies visited are Accenture, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Bosch and many more. The highest package is around 3600000/annum, where an EC student got recruited. The average package is around 600000/ annum. Profiles offered are software developer, technical analyst, Business analyst, app developer, and many more. Almost 60% of the students get recruited during college placement. I have plans for getting placed in campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

As per my knowledge, fees hike is observed mostly for the admission under management quota it varies in 10,000 to lacks based on KCET cutoff. But if one gets admission through KCET its bearable and might vary in just 1000 or so. All information regarding government scholarship will be displayed on the notice board and can be enquired in the college office.

Campus Life

The tech fest will be conducted usually in the month of October, its one of the largest fest of its kind in Banglore, where hackathon, code storm, codathon and scientific modeling is conducted. The annual fest will be organized in March which is the most famous fest in entire South India. BMSCE has a wide collection of books including textbooks, novels, journals and even one can even read through the online library. The classrooms are very spacious and there is good ventilation. >Various sports events such as Basketball, Badminton, Chess are given importance. BMSCE supports student clubs immensly. There are over 15 clubs in college run by student coordinators. Major ones are Rotaract, Kannada club, Singing club, Grove house, Math club, IEEE club, Fashion club, mountaineering club and many more.

I have been from diploma background, after diploma I joined this course as later entry (direct admission to 2nd year). In diploma also, I have studied the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) course. As I know the basic concepts about this course, it is easy for me now to understand the concepts.

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

Campus is good and mainly located near Whitefield.
too good supportive professor. Staff are too chill. Some staff are like our bestfriend's.
Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

Placement Experience:

From the end of 6th semester students become eligible for campus placemets.Many companies visit the campus including Oracle, UI path, etc offering students interships and full time jobs.The highest package offered to the student is 50 lakh per annum from UI Path and the average package of CSE branch is around 10lakh. Nearly 93% of students are placed in various companies.My plans after graduation is to grab a good on campus placement and look forward to my other goals in my life.

An honest review

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
