Remarks

I wanted to pursue law as my profession, so I applied for a couple of law colleges by applying for law entrance exams such as clat, ailet, mhcet, bhu. I got AIR 2264 rank in clat so I finalized to take admission through clat as nlu offers you the best education in the field of law. My university, the national law University, Sonipat falls under the Consortium of nlus. So I got selected for it through clat exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I wanted to do opt law as my career, so instead of doing ba 3yr program and then doing 3 yr LLB would cost me 6 yrs whereas 5yr integrated ballb(Hons) course seemed the best option to me. Faculty students ratio is like 63 students in one section, but besides that, we are allocated a mentor faculty to 20 students each for solving our academic and other problems. The faculty is highly qualified and all have doctorate degrees. Also, the teaching style is quite comfortable and understanding. We have 10 semesters throughout our course. Term exams are moderate in nature and questions asked are related to what is taught to us.

Internships Opportunities

3

As our campus falls in the NCR region, the college has tie-up with the supreme court along with other high courts. Besides that, they have tie-ups with NGOs like think India. So a 1st-year law student I was offered an internship under senior advocate of Punjab and Haryana high court.

Placement Experience

3

For placements, our college has a separate cell named internship and placement cell which have links with many ngo, lawyers, and law-related personalties, which helps in providing a good internship opportunity and after the completion of degree also a decent job opportunity.

Fees and Financial Aid

As my university is a government one, so they get a lot of funding and subsidies so for the facilities we avail, the fee is quite affordable. It is around 2 lakh per annum. Also, there is a scholarship program for the economically weaker section students.

Campus Life

3

Actually, we have not been to the campus yet due to covid College in offline mode has not open yet. But as our campus is newly built, its infrastructure is Excellent. we have a no. Of committees in our college to facilitate our studies along with entertainment. We are provided with the SCC ONLINE COURSE which includes manupatra and SCC online. Our campus has an Olympic size swimming pool. Also, have a great infrastructure for sports. We have student-led initiatives for literary and cultural events.

Hostel Facilities

3

As our university is newly built and we will be the first batch to accommodate the rooms, rooms have a well-built bed along with a study table and a chair. Our campus is fully residential as there is no option for day boarding, the mess is nicely built and offers good quality food.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum 4 out of 5 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose this course because it offers a balance of theoretical knowledge as well as the practicality of the system through moot courts, internships, legal research, and case studies. Examinations are conducted twice in each semester mid semester and end semester exams along with internal assessments, viva, presentations and assignments. The difficulty level is moderate

Placement Experience:

Placements are not so useful and good for legal department. Because no one wants to go to small legal firms which don't have potential to make future. Generally students don't prefer to get placed in co-operate firms as it does not gave any practical help in future in you leave them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculam is very nice for the law subjects but for the BA subjects it can be very tiring at times. Like same concepts are repeated again and again in various subjects. E.g- Often what taught in Pol Science is same to what is taught in History, so it can be repetattive on some occasions.

Placement Experience:

A students is eligible to sit on placement after their 9th semester is completed in the college. Law is a profession in which students don't prefer to sit on placements because of the experience and connection that they have made during their time in internship. Students tends to apply for off campus opportunities for corporate or even litigation practices other than in campus placements. But nonetheless the college provides the placements for the students who sits on placements. The amount and packages varies every time. As I will be a second generational lawyer after this course, I won't be sitting for the placement as I have my own plans regarding the profession of law.
