Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because I love computers and computers are the most essential thing in today's world and I also love computer software which is creating our today's world very futuristic. Student ratio to faculty is approx 60 ratio 1 and qualification of our all the faculty is PhD and their teaching method is unique some teacher is very boring but in a bridge or a good and the term exam is held in right time every time and it is not much difficult to pass but if we do not attend our classes only we can fail in exams and in the term.

Internships Opportunities

5

Amazon, Wipro, TCS, Google and many more companies provide internship students with stipends of 50 k to 100k, and after the internship, they give PPO to students to get placed there .roles like Software developers, product managers, data testers and many tech related posts are offered there. Project related artificial intelligence machine learning web scraping and python is necessary to get a job there and it needed in industry for production of great software and their maintenance and development support. Overall, projects are the key to crack the internships and, we can go to any company and do startup by simple projects like many LPU senior students are doing.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is 100 percent in LPU as many students during lockdown got placed in amazon and Flipkart and google, and placement cell of lpu has great efforts in students to enhance the inner capabilities of students to become an industry related person. Placement cells also provide many internships for us. My plan after my degree is to join a startup company for learning what is happening there and I want to become a good software engineer that helps the world by solving problems.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, any fees hike policy is there, and the cost to study is approx 2 lakh for college fees and 1 lakh for residence in hostels and mess and approx 12 lakh for completing the exam. The scholarship is available for students who got more than 90 or 95 percentile, or qualifying lpunest exam or scored. More than 90 percent in class 12 or class 10 exam, then the scholarship is about 10 percent to 40 perecent depends upon performance and financial assistance is excellent and they help every student and many jobs in the campus like a librarian, gym trainer, the call centre is available for work as part time which pays approx 10k per month and many companies give internship with a stipend of 50k approx per month.

The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
