Remarks

So according to my rank and priorities, NIT Durgapur suited the best for me, with good placements, a well developed campus and counting in the list of top NITs, it attracted me with all the good things in it, the admission process was completely online in the month of November 2020, with well, it lags some things behind some other good NITs with a smaller campus size and i referred to collegedunia and college pravesh while counselling for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose electrical engineering because that was what i was getting in my rank and also i had interest in EVs so that made me more sure about getting into this course. The student ratio is high here and the faculties are really very qualified like PhD scholars from various recognized institutes worldwide with experience in teaching, the method used by the faculty is good too as they do weekly quizzes and also assignments to make the teaching material work out more efficiently. All the exams we very equally spaced in time and they matched the difficulty as per the national recognized institute. It was easy to pass as the professors had an amazing teaching, and we were well focused on the lectures.

Placement Experience

4

The placements and job opportunities are really amazing here, this year the highest offered was 45lpa and average was around 12lpa. A lot of product based, service based and consultancy firms visit the campus. renowned big firms like Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, JPMC, etc visit for recruiting. Also PPOs are available, during the 3rd year of the course if people perform well in their on-campus internships they get PPO from those firms. My plans after getting the degree would be getting a job. Perrcentage of placed students is around 85%

College Events

4.5

This year we had the tech fest by the name Aarohan which was held during the month of april. The fest was really amazing and all had an amazing time. the extracurricular and sports are amazing too, two big grounds and all EC like yoga. Yes there are a lot of clubs in the college from coding to cultural and the societies are really active with their events.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very feasible and, there are opportunities for meritorious scholarships too. The cost to study which is just the tuition fee for the 4 year B.Tech program is around 6.5Lacs and, On campus jobs and internships are readily available too

Campus Life

5

The infrastructure of the campus is really good, we have the main academic building and also departmental building as we move ahead in college. There are 2 big sports ground ovals and lords. The library consists of a vast collection of books. The labs are equipped with all the necessary equipment, like me being an electrical engineering undergrad we have all those equipment like CT and PT, wattmeter and energy meters for all required experiments. Wifi is available in the campus with an acceptable speed.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes i have opted for hostel facilities, the hostel room provides with a bed, study table and storage wardrobe for cloths and other things. the registration process for hostel was quite easy. The meal quality is really good and the other mess and hostel facilities are good, as i had to move between states so had to get used to the food there.

Admission

No there weren't any interviews for admission to the college, the admission in NIT durgapur depended on the rank achieved and the aggregate percentage in 12th boards. After that several rounds of counselling were held which disclosed the opening and closing ranks for the respective branches and this followed until the last round where after online document verification, seat was allotted based on the rank.

Placements and Governments seats after UG is very competitive although. In upcoming future everyone will going to focus on larger production in limited land/cultivation area so Agriculture will be needed today and tomorrow.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.
