Remarks

Anyone can find the application form online on the LPU site or can you share the details through a toll-free number of LPU also, you can avail of scholarships through LPU nest based on 10th and 12th marks. the application form cost around 1000 INR in 2016. The Admission process is very good you don't need to bring your parents too, you can do all process on your own. The main issue which I found was during the PET (Personality Enhancement Training) which is not up to the level and there are very few companies are approaching for mechanical engineering students and as per the current trend they are not even providing good CTC but in other fields, CTC and training are good such as in IT or CSE branch. They are some pros and cons also such as mess food quality is below average in most of the days but you can opt for outside food courts also. The campus provides good security to avoid any kind of mishappenings.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

There were 3 FA out of which 2 are compulsory 1 midterm exam and 1 end-term exam. The level of exams is easy to medium depending on the subject too. If you are unable to clear any subject you are eligible for 3 reappear or improvements to better score the subject and improve overall score or CGPA. But you need to pay each time for reappearing or improvements cost around 350 INR as per 2020, so better to score good marks in the first attempt only.

Internships Opportunities

3

Companies offered different roles depending on your field such as in my case Project Engineer Trainee, Design Engineer Trainee, Analyst, Quality engineer Trainee, etc. A person can do other co-curriculum activities to increase their chance of getting placed such as he/she can take part in projects or events such as RCDC (Rally Car Design Challenge), GKDC, etc.

Placement Experience

2

The students are eligible for campus placements from the 3rd year depending on the company also. In my case, as I was from Mechanical engineering some few and best companies approached in the campus such as Sonalika, JCB, Ashok Leyland, Bosch, etc but the package offered by them are not much good as per the current environment. The lowest package went in my field is 0 INR as the companies usually approached for an internship but not job confirmation and the Highest package went in my field is around 6LPA.and the Highest campus placement went for around 30 LPA by Microsoft.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship which I got was from LPU Nest. There is a fee hike each year ranging from 5 to 10k. You can opt for an education loan from any bank private or govt or campus banks also which are there in LPU Mall. If I talk about myself it cost around 10Lack (including hostel, mess, fee, laundry ) for me to complete B.Tech Mechanical in my first attempt in 2020.

Campus Life

5

Many fests occur in LPU such as cultural fest, annual fest, etc. LPU provides a big central library on the 9th floor holding different categories, departments books. Apart from the central library, there is a separate department Library which is situated in each department block such as mechanical, computer science, etc. There are many social groups, clubs, and websites that a person can join depending on their choice such as ASME, RCDC, GKDC, etc. The groups depend on your field of study. You can participate in any event either off-campus or on campus.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The room registration process is simple but depends on a first-come and first, serve basis as there are a total of 10 floors in most hostels and students usually opt first for lower floors for better convenience. The room consists of 1 chair, 1 table, 1 bed, and 1 single bathroom with an attached toilet which you need to share with other roommates. The number of roommates depends upon the type of room you opted such as 4,3,2 seater or an apartment (AC, Non AC). You can opt room with your friends also but from 2nd year. You can opt for PG or room outside campus also as per your choice and rent.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
