Remarks

I joined the college in 2019 in Btech Hons. cse. The eligibility of course is PCM in 12th. Application form was filled online and it was a smooth process. Every detail was available on the website and one could read all the stats online on the website

Course Curriculum Overview

I was interested in Computer Science Engineering. The class was divided in two parts so that further attention could be provided but it was a 1:60 in thoery and 1:30 ratio in practical classes. Faculties were mostly PhD and master's degree holders. Exams were taken on time and was taken strictly.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many companies come and give internships, one of my friend got internship worth 15k. Most companies come for full stack web development. There is lot of learning in this and people get to have lots of training in this.

Placement Experience

From 6th sem students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit here but mostly they are mass recruiters paying about 3.5 lakhs. Highest package according to college is 42 lakhs. I plan to open my startup after getting the degree

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees once decided on joining college doesn't increase over years and I got 50% scholarship and was able to reduce my burden. Most people qualify scholarship either due to boards exam or jee or lpunest.

Campus Life

Land of events, it happens every other day in college. A huge Library where most of the books are available but due to the huge crowd sometimes may become unavailable. Classes have projector which sometimes might be dirty and Ac which is functional with well furnished benches. So many organisations are present in the college that helps students cater their skills.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is costly. I used to live in apartment where kitchen, Ac, geyser, diwan, etc where available. Mess food wasn't tasty. Registration is smooth process everything happens online. I live in a nearby place of law gate, one can get good pg's but be aware of the distractions outside the campus.

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
