Remarks

PTU Jalandhar is ranked 3rd in the state and is ranked among the top 70 universities of India. The college admission form has to be filled out from the college website but I went to the campus and submitted it as the college is in my home town and have to appear for the university entrance test. After clearing the PTU Jalandhar entrance the college invites for verification of the documents if we meet the cutoff standards. I was able to clear the exam and my documents were also verified properly.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of the college is good and it follows all kinds of industry norms and regulations. The faculty ratio is also 1:10 which increases the healthy conversation in the class during the lectures. The curriculum is designed in such a way that it does not feel like a burden to us. The faculty is highly qualified and well trained. The faculty also motivates us to take part in the college extracurricular activities. The faculty teaching methods are also very good and the faculty are quite professional too.

Internships Opportunities

The internship is not compulsory it is optional it depends upon us whether we want to opt for it or not. If we are not opting for an internship we have to submit the written assignment as power the topic given by the faculty of the concerned department. But if we want to opt for an internship we have to opt for an off-campus internship.

Placement Experience

The college has average placement offers but the companies that participate in the college placement drive are very good. Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, TATA Motors, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys are some of the companies that participate in the college placement drive and the highest placement offers to go up to 16 LPA and the average salary offer is around 7 LPA which is quite decent in comparison to other universities in our state or can say that the placement offer is high in comparison to our state universities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Specially Disabled, Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girls, Merit cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS at National Scholarship Portal, Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities at National Scholarship Portal, Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Uttar Pradesh are some of the college scholarship names through which the college provides scholarship.

Campus Life

The college campus life is good. The college strictly follows the no-ragging policy. The college building and infra are well managed and maintained. The classrooms are big and spacious. The college campus always remains clean all thanks to the housekeeping staff of the college. The college library is decent but all types of books are available for us to enhance our knowledge. The college also celebrates Lohri and Holi on the campus.

Hostel Facilities

The college also offers a hostel facility as the college is situated in my home town so I did not opt for hostel facility but many of my classmates have opted for hostel facility and they told me that the mess food quality is okay and the rooms are quite spacious and fully furnished. The wardens are friendly and the staff is cooperative. the bathrooms are clean. The hotel security is 24-hour avail and is quite strict too.

Hostel Fee: INR 58000 per year

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Likes

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing

Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

Good inetrship provided in any college for students

First of all i went to LPU which is no 1 in punjab ranking, when i visited it my experience was very good and placement was also good but the fees structure of every course was very high like if i talk about BCA then its fee was 180000 which was not right for me, so i did not take admission in LPU but the college was very good and i also went to geeta university in a panipat and no one knowledge about that college because it was in a remote area and the students there also explained to me that either do not take admission or you will have to pay fine after fine, this college is not good, so i dod not take admission there i did not take it and then i looked at IKGPTU where i am currentlu studying it was a budget college and not to far from my home and the course fees were also reasonnable, so i took admission...Read More
