Remarks

I was interested in the CSE program and I do not want to take any chance so instead of appearing for JEE exam I appeared for the CUSAT entrance exam. Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is ranked among the top 65 institutes of India in terms of engineering. The application form is filled from the college official website so I filled the form and appeared for the college entrance test after clearing and meeting the cutoff marks aI was invited for documentation verification which was successfully completed.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of the college is good and latest. The curriculum properly teaches us about every aspect of coding and plus the curriculum is the proper balance of theory and practical. The faculty of the college is also very good. They know what they are teaching as their teaching methods are very good and simple. The faculty also have completed their PhD degree from the top institutes of India. The faculty have very good experiences and good industrial exposure.

Internships Opportunities

The college internship p[rogramis well designed and we have to complete 7-8 weeks of internship program after completing the second year of our program. The internship is p[aid and the average stipend for internship is 45k.

Placement Experience

The college is good and the college fees are also average and the college placement standard is decent. The college manages to reach a 100% placement record every year. The highest placement offer goes up to 15 LPA and the average salary offer remain up to 7 LPA which is a very good comparison to other colleges of our state of the same standard. The college placement committee members are professional and have very good industrial experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not have any individual scholarship schemes but central and state-funded scholarships can be availed. The college complete course fee is approx 3.80 lakh and the college average salary offer is around 7 lakh and the highest salary offer is 15 LPA which is quite a good placement offer and good ROI.

Campus Life

The campus life of the college is quite simple. The college has a good environment for studies. The no-ragging policy is strictly followed. The college staff is very professional and cooperative. The college library is the house of many knowledgeable books from all around the world. The classrooms are very good maintained and equipped with a computer system and digital board. The college also provides sports facilities like a badminton court, basketball court and many more.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel rooms are available on sharing basis and the rooms are spacious and properly ventilated. The rooms are bathrooms are cleaned on daily basis. The hostel mess food quality is good special y the south India breakfast is very tasty. The hostel has 24 hours of water and power supply. The wardens are good and friendly. the hostel has all kinds of facilities for us. The hostel security is also very good. The hostel discipline is very well maintained.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

The overall environment here is great. Students coming from different backgrounds make us more capable of meeting new people who have different ideas and that makes things easier,apart from achieving technical greatness ,curtain clubs are here
These clubs gives opportunities to gain new skills and to showcase our existing skills, sports clubs are also present which will help improve skills in sports
Cultural clubs , technical clubs are also present here to aid in your interest

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.

Likes

college provides nice venue good study environment

It is so far from the main road a lot to walk

Students can get internships from First sem. Students become eligible from 7th sem for campus placement . The average package begins from 15000/- to most highest package of 25000/-. The percentage of students getting paced is 20-30%.I have been planiing to go to higher studies.

Likes

Campus, comparing from nearby college this college had good visual beauty may be because of the college been part 2-3 movies. Visually the college are too good with nature

Dislikes

The Placement is weak as there is no opportunity to get a proper core based job from what you studied mainly job opportunities come from call centres which doesnt require Btech to study. This personally felt too sad to be here to get placed in core.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of the college comes under Ktu syllabus it has already has demerits of the university. Curriculum basically doesnot provide a realworld application uses. Just creates a knowledge on the course (and thats doubt) We need to courses outside the college to get the core jobs outside

The college provides a good atmosphere to truly get a job in the competetive world if we are willing to work for it.
They heavily monitor attendance to make sure that you take your classes so that you perform well in your exams
The facilities provided by the college are good as there are several labs and workshops for hands-on experience

Dislikes

The campus life can get boring and it feels like we are in a rat race.
Some teachers can be a bit apathetic towards the students.
The number events that encourage social interactions in not many

Placement Experience:

The students are elegible for campus placements from the 7th semester and almost all students get placements provided they don't have any subject yet to clear at the time of placement. There are several companies that visit the college for recruiting including but not limited to TCS, CTS,etc,.

The campus is a package pf greenery and the culteral events conducted there are good at the end
The faculties are good and maintain a decent teaching style
The sports activities are well maintained here

The hostel mess and the food is a bit not good from my opinion
The hostel doesn't have adequate wifi to accommodate the entire strength of students residing there

Yes the college is providing placement facilities and the College has its own placement and industrial relations wing that is said to study about the current industrial requirements and provide the adequate amount of training for the students

Good learning environment with a good campus life

I choose Cochin University Of science and technology for Mtech Instrumentation Technician beacuse of its good reputation, affordable fees, and experienced faculty, and better focus on core technical subjects. I also got admission to Delhi University, but i prefer CUSAT because it was more affordable and better suited for instrumentation and automation studies. I have only applied to CUSAT, we i was not able to get admission there i would choose to work in a company. It was just a try from my side, but it actually worked out. For MTech, GATE qualifiers can direclty get the admission without any other exams. They can also avail monthly stipent of around Rs 10000. Other exam for admission is DAT exam which is conducted by the respective department of the course. I have taken the DAT exam under the Department of Statistics , where this MTech Data Science and Analytics is present. The eligibility includes BTech or MSc. Cutoff is majorly based on the number of students writing the exams and the number of seats. So cutoffs can vary. Students are selected based on the DAT ranklist. Spot admission is conducted for the remaining seats. There is also a least chance for students who didnt write the DAT Exam can also get the admission at the 2nd or 3rd spot admissions....Read More

A look into inside of School of Management Studies, CUSAT

CAT/CMAT/KMAT any of the score is mandatory. Out of all applications recieved, the initial shortlisting will be done based on these score normalised. Around 500 students get shortlisted. Then GD and interview will be conducted. Based on that final rank list will be prepared. 70% weightage is for score of any management test. Amd remaining 30% weightage is for GD and PI together.
