GCET, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Remarks

As GCET is AKTU affiliated college it takes addmission by UPSEE counseling. This time in counseling it takes both uptu and jees mains marks and rank for the seat allotment. The improvement that I want in the admission process is that all the documents and fees should be done online and it will not only save time but also there will be less crowd. There are many reservations like sc/st, home state, etc but I don't come under any of that categories.

Course Curriculum Overview

I opt for the couse that is computer science and engineering with a specialization in data science because this course has lots of opportunities in the coming future. Faculty to student ratio is approx 1:8. All the teachers are highly qualified with the experience of 4-5 years in teaching. And if we talk about unit test it happens from time to time like unit test every month and there is university exam for the endsem that happens every 6 month in the course of 4 year.and class quiz happens time to time like once or twice a week.

Class Size: 69Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for the b.tech is around 120000 for all the branches per annum and also the there is examination fees that are the university examination fees which is 8000 per year for the registration. There are plenty of scholarships offered in the course and I am not eligible for any of those. during the addmission process, things like loans and guidance staff members provide. There is no opportunity on campus for the intership with the stipend.

Campus Life

4.5

The college organizes the fest that is Metacognition which happens every year it is big event and many celebrity also come for some performance also standup comedians come for doing the show.GCET library is big and there are almost every book available which student need fromm cours ebook to the novels you have to have a id card for issuing the book also you can read it right there.CLass room is quite big and the infrastructure is quite godd there is proper ventitalltion and also there is fire extenguiser in every classroom in case of fire outbreak.GCET provides quite many sports opportunity recently in afest name DAKSH there were many tournament like batminton table tennis etc there are vaious club in which you can give join by giving the test for the respective club.

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

What I See at SRM Ghaziabad

Likes

I really appreciated the college clubs and hackathons.
There are variety of events throughout the semester, something to always keep you on your feet.
Some of the faculties are really really experienced and have a unique approach that captures the attention of all the students.

Dislikes

Not many hotspots around campus to hang out after classes.
The infrastructure of the hostel can be improved a lot.
Food in mess is not great, the menu is not very diverse. Everything has aloo.

Placement Experience:

Placements are actually impressive with our college having the highest placement rate among others in the region. We usually achieve ~90% placement. We get opportunities from many large groups, such as Infosys, TCS, JPMC, BNY, Logitech, etc etc The list goes on. The highest package that I saw was of around 1Cr from a company I don't remember their name, but it was based out of SF and was a really great one. Average placement we see is around 12-20LPA packages.

The campus has less places to spend some free time other than some spots.
Due to small academic hall places may look too crowded.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is really one of the the factors convincing everyone to take admission in SRM ,average package from the college is of around 10,00,000 which is really a very good amount in todays stresfull market.

Galgotias College Brutal Honest Review

I have applied for Bihar State Nalanda college, chandi. It gave me aerospace engineering. I didn't choose that because their course curriculum with their faculties and college culture is not fit for getting placement. I wanted some placement oppurtunities through my college and GCET is suitable for it because of their location and college culture. My admission process of my college is through direct admission as well as UPTAC counselling. Direct admission is for those who have low JEE ranks and outside of UP and are early comers. Counselling is for merit based admission for UP students generally with better JEE ranks than direct admission students....Read More

I have also applied for JIIT Noida, but couldn't able to get CSE branch. However, In greater noida, comparing to other private colleges, GCET is much better option because of its location, fee structure, campus size. Admission process happened through AKTU counselling, also 15% seats researved for direct admission as well.
