Entrance Preview

No entrance was not necessary to admit that college. It was purely based on marked scored on higher secondary exam.I opt for this college because it was nearer to my residence so there was no waste of time. And above all it has my one of favorite subject 'chemistry' .

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course structure was perfect in case of future research if some one opt for that. Though in my case it was not so helpful to me as i choose different subject after completing my course .But many of my batch mates are now renowned scientist on their field for their research work.

Internships Opportunities

No it is not provide any internship so no question of any stipend arise. After all it is a non technical college.

Placement Experience

0.5

As it is a non technical college so there is no question of any company came to campus and offer student for placement giving them job-opportunity. Here only main stream courses like hons. in physics, chemistry, math,Bengali,English etc.are offered. One interested in job-placement early should not come here.

College Events

3

There were different programmed which were celebrated in our college.No.1 'Nabinbarn' to welcome freshers. On that day some cultural programme was arranged like singing, dancing.Another was 'Rabindra joyanti' to celebrate Rabindra nath Tagore's birthday. Many programme like 'najrul joyanti',blood donation camp etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At the starting of the course the fee was very nominal which was not bother us too much. But last year of our course fee- structure was suddenly increased 10 fold which was un expecting to us. I can't remember the fee structure now as it was already passed 12 years.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship or loan facility is not available with this college. It is a government sponsored so the fees are nominal and so no need for any loan.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio as i think is 55:45.Male students are little more than female student. And about religion 90% students are Hindus and rest are Muslims. Two student union were working on that time,'chatra parisod' and'chatra sanghatan'.Many extracurricular activity were happening like debating, reciting ,singing, dancing, acting by the students.

Exam Structure

First Exams occurred after 2 years. And final exams occurred after 1 year of 1st exam. The exams was occurred at different colleges. On a single day two exam were occurred each timed 4hrs.It was very tough for us to concentrate for whole 8 hrs. Practical exams was too tough.

Faculty

2

The faculty was not so good as i expected. Two professors are very good but rest processors are not so good.It was not like they are not eligible for their post but for some reason they are not interested to teach us properly. Some professor tried their best but their technique is not impressive to us.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
