Remarks

LPU conducts an entrance exam for admission known as LPUNEST, and the level of the LPUNEST exam is easy to moderate. Then on the basis of your LPUNEST score, you will be categorised amongst category 1,2,3 and based on these categories you will be awarded a scholarship upto a maximum of 40% of semester fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum at LPU is very well structured and everything is well planned before the start of the course. I am enrolled in B.tech Computer Science and Engineering course and I chose this course because I am very passionate about Coding since my school days and nowadays this field is getting higher popularised. In LPU, a CSE section has almost 100 students in every section and faculties are also the insufficient number to teach everyone. In LPU every faculty is a PHD holder and experienced. In a semester in every course, there will be 3 Class Assessments, Midterm and end-term Examinations. If you failed to score at least 40% in one course then you will be awarded a reappear in that course.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship opportunities at LPU will be available after the completion of 2nd year. You will get the opportunity from one of the Best companies for the training role in the company for the Internship and if you will do your best during that period then you can also get the chance of full-time job opportunity. If you have 1-2 good major projects on your resume then it will work as cake in your mouth for your internship. Mainly on an average, you will get 15,000-30,000 in your internship period i.e. of 6 months to 1 year.

Placement Experience

5

Placement opportunities at LPU are very best. From the 3rd year onwards every student is eligible for Internships. Many big tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. Visits for on-campus placement. And companies like Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, and many more do mass recruitment from there at an average package of 5 Lac. Almost there is a record of 90% and plus students placed in their dream companies. In the year 2020 a CSE student Tanya Arora bagged the highest package of 42 lac at Microsoft. And I am pretty sure that I will also land my dream job before my completion of my Bachelor's degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for one semester of B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering is 98,000-/. But you can avail scholarship on the basis of LPUNEST, Jee mains Score, Previous qualification and father's service or on sports quota. And also there is an on-campus part-time job opportunity so that you can lessen your financial problems. the part-time jobs will not clash any time with your class hours or studies.

Campus Life

5

Life at the Campus will be one of the amazing moments of your life. There is a DSW (Division of student and welfare) to organise all the events and host any programs. In LPU there are many fests conducted like one India one world, eSports tournament, Cricket tournament, And many fests like coding contests and many more. And Library of LPU is one of the biggest Libraries in India. In every classroom, there are projectors and Computers for a better experience. At LPU you can join Student clubs for extracurricular activities. At LPU celebrities also visit for their film promotion.

Hostel Facilities

5

LPU has its own Hostel facilities and everything you need. You will get many options for selecting hostel-like 1BHK, 2 BHK, 3 BHK, 4 BHK, Dormatery and apartments and in every hostel, you will get mess facilities and the quality of food of the mess are healthy and tasty. Vacancy for the hostel will be done on the basis of your CGPA. If you have a higher CGPA then you will get a chance to opt for a hostel first than others. Or if you don't want to avail hostel facility then you can opt for PG outside the campus near places like Law gate, Phagwara and many nearby localities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
