Remarks

Admission process at LPU starts from filling out the LPUNEST exam form. Then you will be given option to choose the centre for the exam on the basis of your nearest location. And the level of the examination is easy to moderate. After giving the exam you will get the result in under 1 week of your exams. Then on the basis of your LPUNEST score you will get a category from 1,2 or 3 . If you qualify the exam than based on your category you can avail scholarship at a maximum of 50% for category 1, 40% for category 2, 30% for category 3 .

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum at LPU is very well maintained and designed. I am enrolled in Btech in Computer Science and Engineering. I took CSE because I had a keen interest in Computer Science since my School days. In a CSE section, there are about 80-90 students. And Faculty at LPU are Ph.D. holders and well-educated and their communication skills are very best and also Teaching experience is very best. At LPU there will be Class assessments, Midterm exams, and End term Examinations for every course.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship opportunities at LPU will be available after completing your 2nd year but the thing is that in that period your stipend will be less compared to the time when you will get the internship in your 4th year, so this internship will help you in getting the full-time job during the placement drives. And if you have done a good project then you can get a good Internship very easily. Many companies requirements are like Html,Css,JS,Node and programming languages like C++, Java and Python.

Placement Experience

5

Placement at LPU is one of the biggest achievements for LPU itself. LPU provides you an infinite number of Placement opportunities and if you are capable then you can bag a good package for yourself. Big MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Yahoo, etc. And companies like Cognizant, Capgemini, CTS, Wipro visits LPU for mass recruitment at an average package of 4,50,000. And I am pretty sure that if you are deserving then you can land a good package of about 8,00,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees Structure of the CSE branch Is 98,000 per semester and after availing of the 30% scholarship I have to pay only 68,000 per semester. You can avail yourself upto a 50% Scholarship if you have got 90% + in previous qualifications. And one good thing is there that no fee hike is there throughout the graduation. And if you want to do part to the job then also you can apply for part-time jobs inside the campus and can reduce the financial load without compromising your studies.

Campus Life

5

Campus Life at LPU will be the greatest moment of your life. In LPU there is DSW i.e Division of student welfare which is responsible for organizing all the events and fests. You can join Student clubs if you want to volunteer and be a part of some events and want to take participate in extracurricular activities. One of the greatest and biggest Libraries of India is in LPU which is available 24*7 for students. There is an auditorium, big grounds for organizing many events, and a sports complex for indoor games.

Hostel Facilities

5

LPU has its own Hostel facility for accommodations. You will have many options like 1 seater, 2 seaters, 3 seaters, 4 seaters, Dormatery, and Apartments for students and there is a separate mess in every hostel buildings. And the quality of food in the mess is tasty and healthy for health. But you can only get veg foods inside the hostel. And if you also don't want to avail hostel facility then you can go for PG near LPU in law gate or Phagwara.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
