Remarks

LPUNEST exam is conducted every year as an entrance exam to gain admission in the LPU, you should have earned 60% or more percentage in your boards. Application form, tuition fee, hostel fee, application dates, etc. available on their website admissions.lpu.in. scholarship is available on the merit basis and previous qualification as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

LPU have designed it's course structure very effectively. I took CSE as I have a great interest in the computer field as my family appears behind the software. The ratio of students to students is almost 1:20 in the college. All the teachers in the college are well trained and very passionate about teaching and delivering lessons to students. Tests pass easily if we follow the teacher's classes every day and their PPTs.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college internship program is very-very good. Internship is compulsory and to participate in the internship program you must complete 75% of the attendance. After completing the internship program we should also submit written assignments regarding internship studies in the 5th semester. Internships are paid and unpaid also. If you are much capable than you can secure a paid internship program from a good company.

Placement Experience

5

from year 3 onwards one is eligible for placement on campus. Tcs, mahindra, microsoft, yahoo, ebay visit every year with various offers. placement is one of the most important achievements of the lpu. has a record setting. companies like cognizant, accenture, capgemini and many others do hiring more people there and amazon, google, ibm are visiting our university for inclusion on campus. In 2020, Microsoft awarded 42 lpa to one of the cse student Tanya Arora. in particular, 90% of students are enrolled annually in most companies. i need a campus after graduating as it would be nice to be offered by top employers.

Fees and Financial Aid

In CSE there is fees of 98,000 per semester, Tuition fees are high for Computer Science and Engineering, but obviously you can get a scholarship based on the percentage you earned on your 12th but if you are not getting it right there is no need to worry you can try the LPUNest test and get good on that too. The scholarship will be based on your result in the LPUNest exam. And if you have financial instability you are in a position to get more scholarships. There is also the opportunity to participate in the library after college hours within the campus.

Campus Life

5

LPU is in approx 400 acres, The campus life is amazing if you take a good look at it. There are a few clubs either cultural or educational that you can participate in. And there are a lot of exciting competitions that happen from time to time. You also have the opportunity to work part-time within the campus. The only downside is that the girls are not allowed to leave the hostel after 7pm. and if they have to stay off campus after 7 they need to get permission from the hostel manager.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The University offers excellent accommodation with many budget options such as standard rooms and flats based on all of these rooms which are triple, double and have one accommodation according to budget. The rooms are fully furnished and well maintained. The apartment rooms have attached bathrooms and all types of rooms are available with AC and non-AC facilities. The hostel has a variety of amenities that I can describe here but there are a few examples of 24-hour restaurants, an ATM, parking in each living area, WiFi location and much more. Dirty food is great but only has a vegetarian menu.

Other Applied Colleges

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
