Remarks
Admission is through JEE Mains for Indian nationals. Foreigners can apply through DASA. Application forms are available on the NTA website. A minimum of 75% score in the class 12 board is necessary to be eligible for JEE Mains.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Mechanical Engg as it has been my dream since I was a little boy. Faculty: student ratio is quite healthy. Professors are highly qualified doctorates, with awesome teaching styles. Term exams are moderate in difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are attractive, with second-year students bagging up to a 100K stipend. An internship is a period of work experience offered by an organization for a limited period. It is used for a wide range of placements in business, government agencies, and other fields.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placement from the 5th or 6th semester onwards. Large giants like Maruti, Amazon, Microsoft, Larsen&Toubro visit for recruitment. 300+ companies visit the campus. The highest package stands at 1.4 Cr CTC. 80%+ students get placed in the mech dept. A large number of students opt for higher studies and/or research after graduating.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees for BTech are nearly 900K INR. The annual fee for the first year is 208K INR, and fees are increased by a slight amount every year. Ample scholarship opportunities are available, in addition to reservation benefits.
Campus Life
DTU (DCE) is unbeatable when it comes to fests. I've been at the university for about 6 months now, and there have been at least 8 large fests till now. There is a fest every month. Invictus, Engifest, Homecoming, Kalakriti, and Fortune are some of the large fests held here. The library is huge, with literally millions of books. Classroom amenities include a projector, high-speed WiFi (300 Mbps), centralized AC, and large comfortable benches. There are about 80-90 clubs, teams, and societies run by students, including some world-famous Tech Teams like DTU-SMV (guys who make hyper mileage cars, that run 300 km on one liter of fuel). Campus life is amazing and will be a memory for a lifetime.
