Remarks

The name of entrance exam is LPUNEST. University gives 2 chances for writing entrance exam. They consider best out of two chances. Along with that we will get scholarships on the basis of LPUNEST exam. The student need to qualify the entrance exam and also having minimum 60% marks in 10+2 for taking admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had choose CSE. Because iam interested in it. Teaching in LPU is excellent. They conduct term 1 exams in the months of December or january and term 2 in the month of April or may. After completion of every term exams we will get holidays. Lpu conducts exams very strictly. We need to satisfy both the conditions to pass in LPU. Condition 1: A minimum of 40% marks in the course as a whole. (i.e. Attendance+CA+MTT+ETE) Condition 2: i. Scoring minimum 30% marks in ETE, OR ii. Scoring minimum 30% in MTT and ETE taken together.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

On-site experience has been gained by LPU students through industry internships in corporate giants like Cognizant, Microsoft, Infosys, ABB, ISRO, Simplex to name a few. After 2nd semester completion student need to do a CDP project. It helps to know more about what is happening in society and etc.....

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited to LPU and offered placements like Cognizant - 670+ Capgemini - 310+ Wipro - 310+ Mphasis - 210+ Accenture - 150+ and etc..... The highest package offered during LPU placements 2022 stood at INR 64 LPA. The highest package was grabbed by a BTech CSE student of LPU, and the offer was made by Google and average package is INR 4.5 LPA in LPU 2022. more than 8,400 students have received placement and internship offers till now during LPU placements 2022. After getting the degree my plans to study in Abroad or to get placed in a good company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently iam a 2nd year student in LPU. I got scholarship on the basis of LPUNEST. Lpu provides scholarships on the basis of LPUNEST entrance exam as well as provides need based scholarship for the students whose family income is less.

Campus Life

5

LPU conducts freshmen induction only for freshers every year and also conducts lots of events like one india etc..... There are more than 20+ lakh books and e-books on all subject fields are available in central library LPU. LPU classrooms have white board, projector, security camera, charging points for every seat, 1 or 2 air conditioners and etc.. Sports facilities are also available in LPU. But, we need to book what we want. Lpu have websites like UMS, MY CLASS, OAS, LPULIVE, LPU TOUCH etc.. Everyone in the university having their dashboards in UMS and can login. During covid, LPU conducts online classes and exams on myclass.lpu.in. where only particular class students and subject faculty can login. OAS is used for conducting assignments and etc. LPU LIVE is like a whatsapp where only particular class students and subject faculty are in groups. LPU TOUCH is for checking our attendance, where is our class, assignments upload, checking cgpa, university announcements etc.

Hostel Facilities

5

In hostel rooms each student will get chair, study table, bed, locker, attached washrooms, Air cooler for Non AC rooms, AC for AC rooms. Hostel rooms available like standard 1,2,3,4 seater rooms, Apartment 1,2,3,4 seater rooms. We need to book hostel and meals separately in LPU. It is our choice to book meals or not. We can book hostel room by UMS. No I didnot take a rented room or PG outside LPU campus. But, the rented rooms and PG are available in law gate near LPU or outside of LPU campus. Iam staying on university hostel. Because it is more safety and secure.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
