Remarks
To be able to eligible to apply for Delhi Technological University a student needs to complete 10+2 from a recognized state/central board and also appear and score well enough in the JEE-Mains examination. The application can be done via the JAC portal around September and application fees are around 1500 Rupees The cutoffs are generally high enough for General students and significantly higher for Outside Delhi general students, just for an overview I got 98 percentile in JEE Mains and got admission in mechanical engineering branch. There is a reservation system for candidates who have completed their 10+2 from NCT (National Capital Territory). The admission process is quite smooth and hassle-free, it's purely online (except for the spot round which is conducted in December).
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Mechanical Engineering because DTU is well renowned for its excellence in Mechanical Engineering for the past few decades, also the faculty to student ratio here is pretty good, there are 70 students per faculty member, and almost all of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders, and the term exams are conducted twice a semester and it was easy to pass them if you have a basic grasp of engineering concepts.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a very minimal fee hike every year in DTU, although it may seem a little expensive for poor candidates still, since DTU is a tier 1 college there are various scholarship schemes and funding opportunities (through education loans) available for students. Almost 98% of students get placed in college with the average package being around 15lpa.
Campus Life
DTU college life is pretty liberal to students and allows us to spare time to pursue out interests. The annual fest conducted here is engifest, students generally get plenty of life to explore different opportunities here in fests like Yuvaan and esummit. engifest is conducted in February. The University library is well maintained with proper availability of books and journals needed for an undergraduate/postgraduate student/research scholar. All classrooms are decently managed with ample space along with a centralized air-conditioning system, though you may sometimes face problems in locating the classes. There is a separate sports complex made available for students There are many societies you can take part in, in fact, you can find and organize your society, and peer group here is very helpful.
