Remarks
The admission process was conducted in a hall where the interviewer asked which branch we wanna opt for and then they give us the selected branches based on the availability of the seats on were first come and first serve basis for the current year 2010. The application form was online and filled up by the interviewer, fees were 120000 per year and we were enrolled in the month of May 2010. No reservation benefits were availed by us. There should be a selective board to avail of the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty members were great all specialized in the particular subject they were hired for. Mechanical engineering faculty were 1 per subject out of 42 subjects from 1st year to 4th year among the strength of students up to 60 per batch. Most faculties were doing Ph.D. in the respective subjects as well as they were teaching also. Teaching methods were mostly practical as well as bookish and knowledge-based. Term exams were once in half a year and it becomes sometimes quite difficult to read 42 subjects in the duration of 4 years to become a qualified Mechanical Engineer.
Placement Experience
The moment you have cleared all your backlogs you can apply for the placements inside the college. Students become eligible for ongoing 4th year. Companies like JCB was there some Call center companies were there. there were total 3 offers made by the companies for the placements for the Mechanical batch. The highest package was 4 lac/yr. and the average package was 3 lac/ yr. 30% of placements there happened for the year 2010. I was planning to get a job but my backlog was very much it took me another 6 months after 4th year to clear them all with a 60.01 CGPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure was 1 lakh for the whole year for the 1st year and was increased by 20% for the duration of 2nd 3rd and 4th years were same 1 lakh 20 thousand. Scholarships were given only to the bright students who scored 90 percentile in their 12th board exams. On campus, we got very few companies like BPO companies as well as JCB which was hiring students on the basis of a fee criteria structure.
Campus Life
Life on the campus was good there were 3 to 4 canteens. I was in the campus hostel for the 1st year and it was quite a good experience meeting new students from different parts of the nation as well as the world. Social life was good we all were great friends as well as competitors for studies as well as sports. Annual fest we like to have singers on campus playing music for us they were conducted from March to April month every year. There were two libraries on the campus for studies as well as take away books which needed to be returned otherwise it imposes a penalty which we need to pay for the lost books. In the classroom, there were benches chairs, projectors, whiteboards, etc. A student on campus can play Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Table tennis, and a Shooting range was there, etc. ISTE was a group for technical students, Soft skills classes were there, and BAJA fest was there to participate with your own manual-made vehicle to take participate in the BAJA fest.
