Course Curriculum Overview
I feel the course curriculum is quite relevant and covers the important basics of Biotechnology. We get both theory and practical classes which helps in understanding the subjects better. Exams are usually moderate. I think more industry based projects and practical exposure can make the course even better. Overall, I am satisfied with the curriculum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee for my B.Tech Biotechnology course is around ₹15 lakh including hostel and other expenses. The yearly academic fee is around ₹1.5–1.7 lakh, while hostel and other charges are separate. The fee can be revised by the university, so it may increase in the coming years. Amity also provides merit-based scholarships, including 25%, 50% and 100% scholarships depending on the eligibility and marks.
Campus Life
Campus life at Amity Gurugram is quite good. There are different clubs and activities where students can participate and meet new people. The campus is big and has good sports facilities, library and classrooms. There are also different events and fests throughout the year. Overall, I like the campus environment and student life here.
Admission
I chose Amity Gurugram mainly because of its campus, infrastructure and the course options available. I also compared it with a few other colleges and felt Amity was a better option for me in terms of location, facilities and overall environment. The admission process was quite simple and smooth. I applied directly through the university website and the process included checking my eligibility and completing the required documents. Overall, my admission experience was good and I did not face any major problem.
Faculty
The faculty members are generally supportive and approachable, and we can ask them our doubts during or after classes. The course structure is good and covers both theory and practical subjects. There are regular internal assessments, practicals and semester exams. Exams are usually moderate if we study properly. The curriculum is relevant for Biotechnology and gives a good mix of basic concepts and practical learning.
Night Life
I am not staying in hostel, so I mostly spend time around the campus during the day. There are cafes and common areas where students hang out after classes. For outside, students usually go to nearby cafes and places around Gurugram. The area around the college is generally comfortable to travel around, and I usually head home after classes. Overall, the night life is decent but not the main part of my college experience.
