Remarks

BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus is a really good place for the students to learn and develop. It helps students take responsibilities and make them develop leadership qualities.

Entrance Preview

I got into BITS via BITSAT with a score of 278. Physics was always my passion and i choose BITS because it is the top private institute in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course structure is well organized, although it is a bit hectic for Dual degree students. A numerous number of electives were offered. Some in humanity and many subject related. The electives especially Print and audio Visual Advertising, Astronomy etc were very interesting.

Internships Opportunities

Yes the college provides 2 internships. One of them is a 2-month mandatory internship and the other one is optional. The second internship (PS2) is in the last year of college and can be substituted for thesis if one doesn't want to pursue it. Stipends have a range from 8000-65,000 per month.

Placement Experience

4.5

Almost 100% of the students get placed from the universities and many of the companies that come have attractive packages. Students are placed either by sitting for the placement interview or by a pre-placement offer during their second internship. Ebay recruited students for 24lpa, amazon for 20+ lpa, flipkart for 18lpa ( via PPO during PS2 ).

College Events

3

We have 3 major events in college. A tech-fest (ATMOS) , A sports fest (ARENA) and a cultural fest (PEARL). ATMOS and ARENA occur in odd semesters and Pearl happens in even semesters. For ATMOS, many colleges participate in the workshops and events conducted. Many famous lecturers and professors take lectures during this time. PEARL is a 3-day festival where many people from the entertainment field come together for a huge rave.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is mildly expensive, but BITS offer many scholarships that can help reduce the fee burden. The fees per semester can cost over a lakh including the hostel fees. Cheques and DD's are accepted forms of payment. There is fees for the internship semesters too. A candidate who has been offered admission will have to pay nearly 54,000 (Admission fees and Semester fees for the Starting Semester of the programme) immediately on receiving the Admit Offer Letter. Any candidate who desires to discontinue from the programme after confirmation of admission & registration for the courses specified in the admit offer letter will forfeit the total amount of fees paid.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus Life is not too Hectic and Students have time to pursue their hobbies and interests. The gender ratio is around 4:1 (boys:girls). Student Clubs are formed around academic and national themes to add to the rich mosaics of student life. Students who have common interest in debating come together to form a debating club; those committed to traditional life come together to form a club for preservation of culture and so on. At present BPDC has 15 students clubs namely Dance Club, Music Club, Art and Craft Club, Photography Club, Drama Club, Science and Technology Club, Debating Society, Management Club, Quiz Club, F1 Club, Social Activities, Pixel, Literary Club, Environment Club, etc. The aim of such clubs is to enrich the social and cultural life on the Institute campus.

Hostel Facilities

5

The Institute is fully residential and hostel accommodation is provided to all students. There are six hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. Hostels are allotted on a Single room basis. The allotted rooms are spacious and has a table, chair, bed and

Alumni/Alumna

BITS has an Alumni Association Called 'BITSAA' (BITS Alumni Association). They are very helpful for the students in terms of scholarships, placements and various other fields.

Exam Structure

We have 3 test series a year. the first one is TEST-1 conducted a month and a half after the semester starts. The exams are usually of a closed-book pattern. The test duration is 1 hour long. Students usually score well during this test since the portions

Placement Experience:

My course is a 3 years course and the students could try for a placement from the start of 3rd year. They would have enough knowledge about the outside world by that time and they could start to apply for jobs and companies that they desire to work for. In our stream there are many companies that have visited us like gala foods, Nestle, Calavita, National Biodiversity Authority, Dodla Diary etc. I do not have an excat idea about the packages but that would range across 8LPA to 14LPA. Almost every student around 95 % get placed into the companies and few also opt for government sector for Quality Control Management, FSSAI and etc. My plans after completing B.Sc in Food Sciences Technology would be pursuing Masters degree
