GCET, B.Tech, Mechanical Engineering

Reviewed on Nov 16, 2022(Enrolled 2019)

Remarks

The admission was through the UPCET counseling. The AKTU exam was conducted and the counselling was conducted based on the rank obtained through it. I was enrolled for b.tech in Mechanical Engineering, which is a course for a duration of 4 years. For the application you need to apply for the UPCET counseling the form of which is 1000 for general candidate.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The mechanical engineering is regarded as one of the most important engineering. I opted for it due to my strong interest in the automation sector. The student: faculty ratio is good, it is not very good for the automation sector. Not enough exposure to automation sector can be obtained during the college course. And if you really want to pursue that you need to work on it from yourself from outside.

Class Size: 140Course Fees: INR 109000 per year

Placement Experience

There is almost 100% placements. All the students manage to get atleast a single offer by the end of their course. The placement of Gcet and the GU are conducted together. The students after they manage to get a offer are not allowed to sit for any further companies in the campus placement. The average package is around 4lpa. The highest package made till date in the current year is 18lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The students of Uttar Pradesh can avail the UP goverment scholarship scheme of they score good marks throughout the year. The fees waiver is also available for the ecconomically weaker section. The fees is quite less compared to other AKTU colleges and even the facilities and the infrastructure is much more good as compared to other AKTU colleges.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest is conducted every year, though it wasn't conducted during the COVID years. It is usually planned during the month of March or April. There are quite a number of clubs run by the students, which really do well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel inside the campus is quite expensive as compared to that outside but it is far more better than the outside hostels in terms of ammeneties. The students of the hostel get lots of facilities including the access to unlimited access to sports. The food is not very good but atleast it is edible.

Hostel Fee: INR 140000 per year

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

What I See at SRM Ghaziabad

Likes

I really appreciated the college clubs and hackathons.
There are variety of events throughout the semester, something to always keep you on your feet.
Some of the faculties are really really experienced and have a unique approach that captures the attention of all the students.

Dislikes

Not many hotspots around campus to hang out after classes.
The infrastructure of the hostel can be improved a lot.
Food in mess is not great, the menu is not very diverse. Everything has aloo.

Placement Experience:

Placements are actually impressive with our college having the highest placement rate among others in the region. We usually achieve ~90% placement. We get opportunities from many large groups, such as Infosys, TCS, JPMC, BNY, Logitech, etc etc The list goes on. The highest package that I saw was of around 1Cr from a company I don't remember their name, but it was based out of SF and was a really great one. Average placement we see is around 12-20LPA packages.

Due to small academic hall places may look too crowded.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is really one of the the factors convincing everyone to take admission in SRM ,average package from the college is of around 10,00,000 which is really a very good amount in todays stresfull market.

Galgotias College Brutal Honest Review

I have applied for Bihar State Nalanda college, chandi. It gave me aerospace engineering. I didn't choose that because their course curriculum with their faculties and college culture is not fit for getting placement. I wanted some placement oppurtunities through my college and GCET is suitable for it because of their location and college culture. My admission process of my college is through direct admission as well as UPTAC counselling. Direct admission is for those who have low JEE ranks and outside of UP and are early comers. Counselling is for merit based admission for UP students generally with better JEE ranks than direct admission students....Read More

I have also applied for JIIT Noida, but couldn't able to get CSE branch. However, In greater noida, comparing to other private colleges, GCET is much better option because of its location, fee structure, campus size. Admission process happened through AKTU counselling, also 15% seats researved for direct admission as well.
