Remarks

The admission is based on your JEE Mains score and rank. The student must have cleared the Jee mains exam with the cutoff rank, which depends on the category. Also, there is around 85% reservation for Delhi students (11th, and 12th from Delhi), so the cutoff for Delhi students is much less than that of non-Delhi students. The application process is through JAC Delhi counseling, which releases the cutoff for every round. If you are eligible you are required to pay around 1lakh admission fees, to take part in further rounds, which is refundable if you decide to not take admission further.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I took Electronics and communication engineering because I wanted to do computer science but was not able to clear the cutoff for that branch, and after that ECE was the second best option as almost all tech companies allow ECE branch students to apply for placements in their company. The faculty-student ratio is very good, there are a lot of teachers of every subject, highly educated and have a great knowledge of their subject. But, some subjects are taught by guest faculty which is not that good. The exams are held twice every semester along with class tests and are seriously quite difficult. You need to study before exams if you want to score well.

Internships Opportunities

4

Comparatively less no. of companies visit the campus for internships than placements. Companies like Google, Microsoft, sprinkler, and the sales force start coming after the 4th semester and give more than 1 lakh stipend per month for 2 months summer internship program which a student is expected to do next summer after his/her 6th semester. Mostly tech companies visit the campus for internships along with a few core and no-tech companies. Around 150 students get internship offer on campus.

Placement Experience

4.5

The best part about NSUT is the internships and placements. All the major tech companies like Google, Microsoft, uber, Walmart, Flipkart, sprinkler, sales force, and Atlassian visit the campus for placements as well as internships. The internship season starts after the 4th semester and placement season after the 6th semester and companies visit the campus for a whole year, so almost every student gets places. The average package for the CS branch is around 18 lakhs, while for the ECE branch is 11 lakhs and for mechanical is 7-8 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are increased by around 10% every year. The total cost for 4 years of engineering will be around 9-10 lakhs excluding your hostel expenses. Further, if you re-register(in case of failure or improvement) for any subject you have to pay an additional 8k for that subject. I am not aware of the scholarships much, because you get that only based on your family income and not on a merit basis. I have not still been placed because the placement sessions start in the final year but the placement is very good. Almost all top tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, sprinkler, sales force, uber, Walmart, and much more visit the campus.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is very good. We have a very huge campus having all the facilities. The fest is held twice, annual fest which is Moksha held in February, it is one of the biggest fests in north India, inviting big stars like KK, Anil Jain, and many more. The second one is intra-college which is Resonanz held in September or October.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
