Remarks

All the positives none negative. You will enjoy the most if you will take care of studies too.Otherwise it can be a tough experience for you in LPU.

Entrance Preview

I got direct admission in LPU via my 12th marks(77% in Non Medical stream). I also gave LPUSAT, which is LPU's entrance examination for scholarship purpose. I received a scholarship of 20k per semester by scoring 81 out of 100 in LPUSAT. And I opted LPU because it was the best option I has, plus it has a decent reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good. All the important subjects are being taught, plus you can choose your own subjects too if you're are capable to taking care of extra subjects along with the regular ones. You will get this choice after your second year, wherein you can choose your majors and minors.

Internships Opportunities

LPU is not very open in providing internship to its students. Reason for that is student nowadays are used to sit at home during their internship period and can easily manage to get the vauge certificates from various companies. Not saying it doesn't allow even a single student to go for industrial training. One has to be above a particular CGPA(7.5 in my time) in order to apply for internships. And regular checks are being carried by the university in order to make sure that the student is going to the office. Average stipend is 5-9k.

Placement Experience

4

Like my title of this review, placements and job opportunities are good if you're good enough to grab them. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Josh, CTS, Amazon come in our campus with good packages. So if you're good enough to grab the opportunity, you will be placed in a good MNC. Otherwise you may even find it difficult to clear the degree.

College Events

5

LPU is known for its fests and events. The events celebrated in my time were:-1) YouthVibe2) CokeStudio concert3) One India 4) One World 5) Sports Competetions 6) Theatre, Arts, Dance Competetions 7) Mimicry Competetions 8) Go Karting events 9) Hackathons

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is feasible compared to any private university of India. It is so because of the scholarships that is provided to the students on the basis of their 12th marks or LPUSAT. Fee invovles:70000 tuition fees 50000 hostel+mess fees for one year2500 laundry fess for one year

Fees and Financial Aid

Like I have already mentioned, LPU provides the maximum scholarships offered by any private institutions in the whole country.Loan facility is also available.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratios is 40(F)-60(M)Student/Dorm Parties are not carried on regular intervals by the university but can't really say that the students don't party on their own. There are really very good few places to enjoy around LPU. Workshops are organized at regular intervals for the students.Cultural Societies- There is a special committee for cultural events called as DSA(Division of Student Affairs)Student Diversity is one of the best thing about LPU, you will find not only the students from all parts of India but also from many other countries than India. Mostly African countries.Economic Status- Students from all sort of economic status study in LPU.No Politics, No race or gender issue. Zero ragging.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel- Rooms are quite good. You have option of 1 seater, 2 seater, 3 seater or 4 seater rooms. You can also opt for apartments where you can bring your own electric devices like kettels, induction chullahs which are not allowed in the hostels. Apartments are 1 BHK for a single student. Costing 1 seater 60000 per year,2 seater 50000 per year,3 seater 45000 per year,4 seater 40000 per year,Cost may vary depending upon you're opting for AC Hostels or Cooler rooms Apartments will cost you around 75k per year

Alumni/Alumna

Lpu has a separate website and forum for its alumni. The alumni can get in touch with each other via that. Alumni meets are organized regularly. They are very helpful as job opportunities are also provided for the alumni on the same portal.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is quite simple. You have 3 CA(Assessments/internals), out of this 3, best 2 are counted for finals.1 Mid Term exam and 1 End Term exam. The exams and labs were carried out at moderate intervals. They were neither hectic, nor very chilled out.

Admission

I got direct admission in LPU via my 12th marks(77% in Non Medical stream). I also gave LPUSAT, which is LPU's entrance examination for scholarship purpose. I received a scholarship of 20k per semester by scoring 81 out of 100 in LPUSAT. The exam is of decent difficulty level and comprises curriculum of 12th syllabus.

Faculty

4

Faculty is decent in terms of quality of teaching. The average age of a faculty in LPU is 25-28. So it is easier to establish and maintain a good relationship with the faculties since their is not much age gap between the students and the faculties. The faculties are mostly from NIT's or from LPU with the best of CGPA's.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
