Remarks

The Eligibility of the course is a cutoff of 160 and above in the major of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science or Biology. We can apply for the seats by TNEA counseling or by contacting the college management for the Management Quota which will be expensive. I have joined using Management Quota. The application fee was 500 Rs. when I joined and the application will be opened a month after the results of the 12th state board exams. The Reservation benefits can be availed by joining using Government Quota from TNEA counseling for the category of OBC, SC, and ST. The admission process can be improved by conducting GD/PI.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I loved machines since my childhood and because of that passion I chose mechanical Engineering. The faculty: student ratio was 20:1. The most of the faculties are Ph.D. Scholars with good research experience but lacking industrial work experience. The teaching methods were both theoretical and practical. There will be 2 CA exams with One model Exam before the final semester exams for each semester. Your internal marks will be based on those exams. You should prepare hard for the final semester exams to score good grades. The questions will be moderate to difficult based on the paper. Your understanding will be checked in the final exams.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The internship opportunities were provided in the 3rd year of Engineering in the companies like TVS, and JBM Auto in the production department. It was a good learning experience where I learned a lot about the automotive business and got good industrial exposure.

Placement Experience

3

From the 7th semester onwards, students without arrears will become eligible for campus placements. Companies like TVS, JBM Auto, Infosys, and TCS came for campus placements. And around 30% of students were selected in my batch around all departments. The highest package offered was 3.6 LPA and the average was 2.4 LPA. I joined Infosys Ltd as a Systems Engineer after being selected for an off-campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike is based on the demand for the course being taken. Otherwise, there will be no hikes. If you are a hosteller, the hostel and mess cost will be around 50k for a semester. The library fees - Rs. 5000, and a safety deposit - of Rs.5000 for lab equipment's will be collected beforehand. The NSP scholarship will be provided for the Government quota students only. The companies that came for the campus placements were mostly IT Companies and part Manufacturers and no other product-based companies came. I got an internship only with the help of a college placement cell at TVS Sundaram fasteners.

Campus Life

3.5

Symposium was conducted once in two years. Tech fest will be conducted by the CS departments and hackathon competitions were also held. Many foreign author books and journals were also available in the library and preparation notes for Competitive exams like Gate, and SSC was also available. The classroom is well-ventilated, consists of a whiteboard and projector, and also purified water outside the class in the hall. We can participate in the selection of sports activities in the annual sports meet and win prizes also zonal level and district level competitions were conducted in the college sports grounds. There is an NCC scout on a college campus. we can join as a member of the scout.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
