Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this College (not the course ) but I like my course too. DTU has always had a good environment for students who want Excel in whichever field they like. There is something for everybody. Professors are chill at DTU and highly qualified. Usually, there are about 70 students in each class but the full strength comes only on the exam day, otherwise proxy rocks. Exams may be tough if you don't study at all but students manage to cover the entire syllabus one day before the exams, So it's not that challenging but exams are comparatively on the difficult side.
Internships Opportunities
Many internship programs run in the university, even the college itself runs an internship program which offers around 3.5 k per month. University also helps students get internships in big companies.
Placement Experience
Placements are offered after the sixth semester and you should maintain a minimum of 8 cgpa. Many Big companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple Adobe Etc come on campus with the highest package of 1.86 cr this year. The average package is 15 lacs pa. Most of the students sitting in the placements get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees if different for every semester, every next semester is slightly more expensive than the last one. It starts from 1.2 lacs. But the difference is not very big, so the fees remain around 1.5 lacs per semester. And it does not include the hostel and mess fee(which is around 55k -60k per year. There are various government scholarship schemes applicable but they are on the basis of your family income. So for that, you can contact the admin department of DTU. There is a special department of placement and training which helps you to get a job out of what you have studied.
Campus Life
After 4 years the thing you will miss the most will be your campus life (playing at 12 in the night, roaming the campus all night, Maggi at mic mac). After that are the fests of DTU, Engi Fest(North India's largest cultural fest), Invictus (Tech Fest),Yuvaan (Literature and film Fest) and apart from these. There are many societies, they invite many guests for student interactions. The infrastructure of DTU is decent you have a sports complex (huge). The best thing is the wifi all over the campus for students. Classrooms are spacious enough and projectors are also installed. All the societies are run by the student council. There are also some tech teams for tech enthusiasts which make cars, drones, mass rovers and underwater vehicles, etc.
Admission
The process of getting into DTU or any of the other GFTIs starts with the Qualifying JEE Mains examination and different cutoffs go for different branches. And also you must have at least 60% aggregate in your class 12 Board exams. After you are done with your exams (Mains and boards) you have to register on the JAC Delhi website. The registrations open after 5 -10 days from the JEE mains result is declared. There are many colleges under JAC Delhi (like IIITD, NSUT, I GDTUW, DSEU AND DTU). When you are done with registration and fees payment (10000 -registration fee) you have to fill in your choices from various branches among the above-mentioned colleges (Fill it wisely). There are multiple rounds of counselling so you get multiple chances to get into this beautiful college. I, myself don't have the reservation (GEN) but many of my classmates are having the reservation benefits, they got the same branch at a much lower rank. Apart from that reservation, there are 85%reserved seats for Delhi Student
