Dislikes
- Recently the strictness was increased in regards with attendance, 75 percent was made compulsory.
- Fees are a bit on higher side, considering it's a government college.
- Professors are decent, but most of them are not that interested in teaching.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because it gave me freedom of time and I wanted to learn more about the Environment. The professors are nice and helpful. If you are keen to learn or research, they will help you out. The faculty: student ratio is around 1:8. Term exams are not that difficult, but you have to study, and you are given ample time to prepare for exams.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements after the 6th semester. Around 300 companies visited and offers were around 1800. The highest package was given by Google of 1.2 Cr for the Software Developer role. The average package was around 11 lakhs. More than 90 percent of students who sat for placements, got placed. I plan to do further studies and go abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees increase by 10 percent every year. The cost of study comes to around 9 lakh for me. You can get scholarships if you are from a reservation or your family income is less than 4.5 lakhs per annum. You can get student loans for cheap rates from the bank and DTU assists you with that. You can get internships on campus, ranging from 30,000 to 70,000. But, the competition is tough to get internships.
Campus Life
Campus life is the best. DTU has one of the best cultures and societies. The Tech Fest (Invictus) and Cultural Fest ( Engifest) are one of the largest fests in North India. They were conducted in February. The library is really big and contains books for every subject and interest. Classrooms are nice and AC occupied, professors teach on the Whiteboard and the classes are clean too. There are a lot of societies run by students like Ecell DTU, Biosoc DTU, Cultural Council DTU, SCEE DTU, etc. There are a lot of startups and websites run by students like resources websites.
Admission
The process could have been fast. It took 2 months for the complete admission process. The reservation could have been decreased. College has a lot of seats for Computer Science and related branch. Facilities are also better for computer science and related branches.
Other Applied Colleges
Netaji Subhas University of Technology - [NSUT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Biotechnology)
This college didn't had that infrastructure and was far from my home.
