Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose B. Tech Computer Science Engineering is my career field, because of my interest in AI, and UI/UX development. The faculty of LPU is well-educated and experienced in their own respective educational departments. Talking about the faculty-student ratio varies from course to course, but for my course, it is 70 approx—students for 1 teacher in 1 lecture. In one semester we have min. 3 CA's for each subject and 1 Mid-Term Exam and 1 End-Term Exam, and the exam level is between 6 to 8 out of 10.

Internships Opportunities

4

Usually, the university collaborates with various reputed companies to offer internships to its students. Some of the companies that have offered internships in the past include Amazon, Google, Microsoft, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, etc. The roles offered under internships may vary depending on the company's requirements and project needs. During the internships, students get to work on real-life projects that help them gain practical experience and industry exposure. The projects assigned to the students are carefully designed to match their skill set and learning objectives. The internships usually come with a stipend, and the amount may vary depending on the company and the duration of the internship. The internship opportunities provided by Lovely Professional University help students to develop their skills and get hands-on experience that can boost their career prospects.

Placement Experience

4

From 3rd year you get eligible for campus placements. Companies that visit the campus and take students are Google, Apple, Microsoft, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Zomato, Bosch, Infosys, etc. The highest package grabbed in 2022 in B.Tech CSE is 64 LPA at Google, and the average package is of 8-10 LPA. Overall students get placed in 80-90% annually. Coming to my pov after getting the degree I prefer higher studies in a foreign university.

Fees and Financial Aid

My cost of study includes my per semester fee + hostel fee + mess fess. The basic semester fee for B. Tech CSE is 1,20,000 Rs., but you can get it reduced by applying for a scholarship through your LPUNEST exam or class 12th performance. After the scholarship, my fee per semester is 86,400 Rs. Coming to the hostel part, the fee depends on which type of room you opt for. It starts from a 4-seater Non-AC room and goes up to a separate apartment or flat. I opted for a 4-seater AC room which costs me 75000 Rs. yearly. The same is the procedure with the food mess, it has 2 categories basic and standard mess. The standard mess is costlier than the basic one. Also, you can opt whether you want to eat North Indian or South Indian food. I opted for basic north Indian food which costs me 26000 Rs. yearly. So, my final cost to study at LPU is 273800 Rs.

Campus Life

4

College life entirely depends on what you do with your life in college. LPU will give you all you want for a successful career and the skills thereof. But won't give you enough time to waste on non-productive and unnecessary things. You get tons of organizations to join, and a large number of events to participate in, organist, and enjoy. A large number of leisurely places, be it the central vista, Mall or playgrounds or gyms or swimming pools or indoor stadiums or skating rinks, or nets to practice. But it does not compromise in any case with your safety, your studies, your skill attainment, your employability, and finally your placements. Whatever the duration of your program, your campus life will depend on what YOU do with it. If you are sincere about your studies or any other activity, it will be great. The university charges a fee from your parents to enable a great career for you, and that's what LPU does best.

Hostel Facilities

3

The facilities provided in the hostel are quite good. Starting from my hostel room which is a 4-seater AC room, we get 4 separate beds for each student along with a normal-sized almirah which is divided into 2 students by partition. Also, we get 4 study tables each for one. Coming to the meal part, the hostel mess has two types of food systems Basic and Standard. The main difference between both of them is that in Standard you get sweets as extra in your meal. Despite the sweets, Basic and Standard foods have the same vegetables and pulses. Overall the food is 6 out of 10.

Admission

You can take admission by various criteria, but most admissions are by two processes. First is LPUNEST, an entrance exam conducted by LPU itself, and the second one is your percentage in the 12th class. You can avail scholarship by giving LPUNEST exam or on the basis of performance in your 12th standard. I came to know about LPU through my own research when I was looking for various colleges after my 12th. Firstly you have to register yourself on the admission portal of the university, which is free of cost. Then you begin with the process of selecting your desired course, after that, you will be assigned an admission officer who will inform you about the rest of the things.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
