Likes

The infrastructure of the college is well impressive and around 12 blocks in the college
Campus life is very exciting and many extra curricular activities are going in the college.
The placements of the college of the college aare quite good and alsmost 70% of the students get placement

Dislikes

The hectic schedule of the college that is put up on the students
75% attendance rule which is very bad and put up pressure on students
The students are made to wear uniform on two days in a week which feels like we are studying in school not college

Course Curriculum Overview

I did choose this course because I was into computers since my childhood and want to pursue this field due to my interest. So I choose this college because of its placements and exciting campus life. The faculty ratio is about 1:30. There are class counselors which help students in every case. The term exams were timely conducted as per the academic calendar given by the university or even earlier than that because of the many fests going on in the college.

Internships Opportunities

There are internships offered in our college with quite a few companies and stipends are offered in the 3 years of college. Due to a lack of knowledge in this field, I can not comment anymore about this.

Placement Experience

The students become eligible for placement for the 5th semester for campus placements. The companies visiting the college are Wipro, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. .and this year around 400 offers were made. The highest package offered was 45.5 lakhs and the average package is around 7 lakhs. Around 60-70% of students are placed on campus placements. My plan is to get into Google or Microsoft as an SDE 1.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike policy is according to the university and it is around 4 lakhs for our session 2022-2026. But it has been hiked for the new session around 66150 for 1st semester and the total cost will be around 5.6lakhs for the full course. The college does not provide any kind of scholarship but the students coming from PTU counseling get a fee waiver who are from Punjab domicile.

Campus Life

The annual fest conducted is Parivartan which is celebrated for 2 days and singers come on both days. There are fests conducted every month in the auditorium. Books are available in the library but you have to work hard to get them. There are around 8 clubs in the college with social and other one.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel rooms are available in 4-seaters, 3-seaters, and 2-seaters. The facilities provided are 4 cots, 4 almirahs, 4 chairs, and one cooler. The meal provided is just like what you can expect from hostel food. It is having very bad taste just like hell. The menu looks quite impressive but the food is not tasty at all. The registration process is quite simple for a hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 110000 per year

Admission

To be eligible for the computer science course, one must have 75% in their 12th boards. One can find the application form online on Google. The application fee is 11000 and the application date has been going on. 80% of seats are reserved for Punjab students in PTU counseling. I don't see any improvement in the admission process.

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Dislikes

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

Likes

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late

Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

I choose this college because there are very reasonable fees which we can afford. This is well known college in my area which gives the placement to many students that was the best thing about my college. In our college they train the student by taking TPP in this we have verbal, technical, aptitutde. They prepare us for the interviews and this is not done in any other colleges. In first i tried to take admission in chandigarh university but there fees structure is out of my budget. So i choose the Chandigarh Group of College over the Chandigarh University.
