Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for B.Com (H), as I am a commerce student and I want to do MBA further so I opted for B.com (H) as my undergraduate course. The faculty is very good for commerce students. A lot of professors are there and one section consists approx 80 students. The faculty of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is very nice for commerce, this college is actually ranked 2nd best college for commerce Faculty. Teachers are qualified and the method of teaching is also good for 80% of teachers. Method of teaching is unique as they also focus on practical learning in theoretical subjects also. Time for exam preparation was short as our semester 1 started In November and our exams started in February-March. But the exam's difficulty level was moderate.

Placement Experience

2.5

After semester 4 students can go for placements in the placement cell. Many companies visit our college annually like KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, Accenture, and ZS Associates to provide placements. The average package is INR 4.69LPA. The highest package is INR 10LPA. about 60% of students got placements who opted for placements. My plan after completing my degree is to do a job for one-two year and after that, I will do MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

My course Fees are? 11,755 and it's actually pretty good for a year. The cost to study in this college is actually cheap with this good commerce faculty. Financial assistance was given to students with the help of a Google form then An interview with those students who filled out the financial assistance Google form.

Campus Life

3

There is no fixed name for annual fests in our college but fests are held by college faculties and many societies in our college organize fests. The college library is big 2-floor library. The availability of books, newspapers, and journals is enough. Classrooms are big enough, floored and stairs class are also there. Smart boards are not available in the classrooms. Many sports societies are available in our college. There are sports room, ground, and basketball court in our college. Tournaments are also held in the college. @sbsc_news is an Instagram page operated by students for the latest news of our college. And du_updates is the Instagram page for regular updates of Delhi University.

Admission

Prior to 2022, admission was based on the merit of class 12th. But after that, the central government introduced an entrance exam for admissions. Common university entrance test(CUET) was introduced and from now onwards cuet will be conducted every year for entrance to government colleges like Delhi University. Application form(6 April-26 June) of cuet was released by NTA(National test agency) which cost me ? 1300 at that time. After the exam was conducted, and the result was declared then students have to register on the DU website for further admission process costing. 550. College was allotted to students according to preferences and marks in CUET. There were many reservation benefits like OBC, ST, and SC. I was allowed Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. The admission process was very long actually and our colleges started on 2nd November.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.

In the context of a fictional scenario, the placement scenario would depend on the specific college within Delhi University. Some colleges have robust placement cells that facilitate campus placements with various companies. The placement scenario can vary, and it's advisable to check with the specific college for accurate and up-to-date information.
